I scraped up my passenger side view mirror. It's not too bad, but it adjusts a little wonky now. I looked at the parts diagram, and it looks like I just needing a mirror housing but I don't how difficult it would be transferring all the internals and mirror cap to a new housing without breaking something. It just be easier to get a used mirror and bolt it on, although I hate to take about the door panel with all the plastic clips that are easily broken.

Any instructions out there on how to replace a side view mirror? It can't be that difficult, and I'm confident it's a common repair.

 

yep. they fail with extreme changes in temp ( swinging really hot to cold) causes internal stresses. you can probably look for one at a yard for much less than the dealer site...parts from the dead to keep yours living like new.
