Question Mirror housing

Anyone know how to replace the passenger side mirror housing?
I cracked my housing and have a new housing to replace it with.
Does the mirror pop out so you can access the screws behind it?

more than likely, the trim piece inside the door (triangle at the front of the window) comes off providing access to a few bolts holding the mirror to the car.

You could, but it probably wouldn't do you much good.

I stand corrected. Good job, UP. For some reason, I was thinking this was the 3rd gen forum

Haha, yeah, when I went to look for it I was acutally suprised that it came apart like that, I've done it before with other cars and it has been a trim piece inside that you take off.

yeah, it makes sense for removing the housing. I was thinking that he would be replacing the whole assembly, whereas I believe the base would have to be detached from the inside...oh well, you got the scans up there. Can't ask for much more than that.

Does the mirror pry off easily? I seem to have a hard time prying the mirror off.

I've got no idea, I just grabbed that out of the service manual, I've never done it before.

My mirror is heated and I found that there is a service hole on the bottom of the mirror housing. Just insert a phillips screwdriver to loosen and the mirror comes right out. Since my mirror was cracked I had to take the door panel off and the whole housing to replace.
