Mirror Mirror! What to do?
Mirror Mirror! What to do?
last week, one fine(not really) evening out in the parking lot of Meijer, some s#$t head left me with my driver side mirror hanging loose like it had a paralysis attack.
I checked it in the morning and found that the mirror and the body was well in shape and the mirror did move properly whn I pushed its adjustment buttons. But it kept hanging loosely.
When I looked in the gap, I found that there were three links, two thin ones (actuators probably) and one in the center. The thin ones were properly linked, but the center joint has come out of its root in the base plate. broken basically.
I am pretty sure that the dealer is going to put up a really big amount for this, when I had a bad history of paying 45$ for jst moving a tiny screw. I wanted to give it a try by my own, but I see two problems,
1) what is the part that I ned to get. (forgot to tell that its a 1997 TL Premium, and the mirrors are powere, heated).
2) It looks really difficult to understand how would I be able to remove the mirror from these actuators, as I saw that the screws that open the mirror body are behind the mirror itself!
Any help will be really appreciable
Thanks
Goga

I also found some part diagrams of other parts of the car, which had individual parts shown separately. but it wasn't for the Mirror. Can someone please tell me a website where I can see parts of the mirror? That will help me identify what part I need to buy.

Thanks for the diagram buddy, I checked the website too, but they haven't given the name of the part that I think is broken in may case. I am sure that I don't need the mirror (part 4) and the body (part 2). But wherever I search, they sell the mirror or the whole assembly.
Isnt there someone who sells internal parts separately ???
I didn't get any help on my second question too ..
Pls help guys!!!

mm well maybe u can take the diagram to the auto parts or the delaer to see if they have the part. I know my dad has done that before, he'll print the parts diagram and tell them that this is the part he needs and whether they sell it separately or not. Another thing, Sears has parts diagrams for their stuff, so it would be weird if Acura didnt, im sure they do. go to the dealer and ask if they can show u the parts diagram of the mirror for your car, and then point out the part u need. as for the second question, im not too sure.
