RL vs. Honda SI
RL vs. Honda SI
So I was told from another car forum (LEXUS) that the RL cannot outrun an Honda SI or that it is about dead even, and in general that both cars are extremly slow? Say it aint so. I think the RL is pretty fast, or are car owner so bias that they cannot admit to flaws in their own cars.

BTW,
at the whole idea of racing a Civic Si and an RL. Only on a single certain Lexus board would they even think of this.I'll think about that the next time some speedster revs his/her Si with a coffee can exhaust and a huge wing at a traffic light. He'd/She'd leave me in his/her exhaust because I don't race.

Who the .... cares? I test drove Lexus, MB. Audi. Jag, Volvo, Infiniti, VW. Sabb and we bought an RL. That is ALL that needs to be said.
Edit: add BMW
I drove all of them also and picked the RL, only the Lexus is as reliable, which is VERY important to me.
Also, I own an NSX and enjoy driving the RL as much as the NSX, in different ways.
The RL is an amazing car that most of the public know VERY little about.

Point taken, and thats why I chose the RL.
to add to another concern, do we really like the RL's to be low key. I got upset at my brothers when they couldn't tell between an RL and TSX, (had the TSX as a loaner). And just a couple of days ago when I stopped at a red light and next to a Lexus ES. These 2 young girls pointed at my car and asked what kind of car it was to each other. the other girl replied, "oh thats a grandpa car." I didn't say anything because i knew they were driving their parents car and they were rich snobs who do not know any better that they are driving an overpriced Toyota, but it sorta tick me off. I guess I'm more upset is why HONDA/ACURA is not up to par with TOYOTA/LEXUS in their marketing of their high end cars. I mean is Acura even consider Luxury?

I was just on the freeway 15 minutes ago when a couple of young guys in their Benz coupe strained their necks to look at my RL. Some people appreciate that understated style.By the way, just go to THIS thread to read about our great debate on what Acura should do.

Well I'm hoping with Acura getting into ALMS that it will help market or enhance Acura performance or the brand itself. Hopefully my dreams will come true one day to see an Acura in a Exotic / Luxury magazine.
