the RL is definately not a rich mans car. You can buy one new w/o tech package for 38k.

for 38k, nothing comes close to its value IMHO

If I was 17, that might be out of my range with a part time job.

It is good to dream.

But don't have that dream drag you down into despair. Use that dream to empower yourself, motivate yourself and work towards your goals.

I wanted a Porsche when I was 17. I am 44 now and still do not have one. Instead I started out with a high mileage 10 year old car. I learned how to care for a car so when I could afford a new one, I could keep it in the best condition I was capable.

I can afford the Porsche now, 27 years later. But I drive an RL. I cannot be happier. The Porsche literally is a childhood dream to me now and I have little desire to own one now. Priorities change as you travel through life.

Keep your dreams, but it is wise to love what you have and not what you have not. You will live happier and less disappointed.

Fortune cookie anyone?

I had plenty of crappy used clunkers in my day! That's why I'm a great mechanic! I was almost in my 40's till I could afford "cool" cars!

Tampa, you are wise beyond your years.

The trouble with being 17 is, it's impossible to see into the future. The great thing about being 51 is, you CAN see into the past.

Do your best, get a great education, spend less than you earn, marry a low-maintenance woman, and you'll get there guys!! Here's to your eventual VIP ride.
