I changed the oil and then tried to reset the oil life reminder. I followed the directions in the owners manual, but that didn't work.

The first few times nothing happened. Then it would leave the oil life reminder screen and go to another screen, but not remove the warning reminder.

What else do I need to do?

It's probably been answered here before, so if you can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Ya, I did that, exactly, but never got the display that asks "cancel/reset". And I know I held it for way more than 10 seconds. I did it multiple time and held it longer and longer each time.

So is there something else I can/should do?

 

OK, my son stumbled across the answer. We both had misunderstood the directions. We were holding the reset button dowwn while the "orange lettered" oil warning was displayed, not going to the normal "white lettered" oil life @ 5% display. But when he started through the different displays and came across that one, he tried holding the reset button for 10 seconds and sure enough, it reset.

I would find it hard to believe that we are the only two, to interpret those directions that way.

I'm now a happy camper. All's well that ends well.
