Noise when accelerating

Do you guys here a noise when you're accelerating that sounds like maybe a fuel pump or something? I hear it most when I lower my windows and I'm near a wall to hear the car.

With that impressive list of cars, what's with the Explorer?

To answer your original question, I haven't noted that in the RL. I did in my TL, a high-pitched whine.

Will have to listen more closely.

sab, hard to say. If I was going to only own one, and they were the same price, the M35, but since you can get the RL for a good 7K less than the M35 equally equipped, I'd say RL is better for the money by far. The main thing I like about the M35 is the surround sound and DVD system. For driving and other tech features, I like the RL better. I just wish the RL had:
1) DVD player
2) backup camera
3) a little more torque

The 1st two can be fixed after-market which I'm doing soon. I'm adding the iPod video and getting the nav2tv so I can play on the screen for my daughter and wife on road trips, etc.

neuron, the sound is very hard to describe. It's somewhat high pitched, but I wouldn't call it a whine. It's almost like I can hear it trying put gas in the engine. I wish I could describe it.

Scott - I hear the same noise and agree it's hard to describe. It's not a whine but something similar when accelerating. I pointed it out to the tech during my last service visit and he heard it too but noted he's heard it in other Acuras. I also heard it when I had a 2007 MDX loaner during the same visit.

That's good to note. When I take my car in, I'm going to drive their demo RL and see if it sounds the same.

Thanks for the post!
