made an intake today....
It should sound good, but if it's a short-ram (can't tell from the pix but looks short), you lose some power with it because you're taking in heated engine air rather than cool air from outside.
Which filter did you use?

He is correct in saying that you will loose performance. Hot air has less oxygen modules and therefore are spread further apart, which translates to less oxygen getting into the combustion chamber for ignition with the fuel. Manufactures spend a lot of money getting the cooler air from outside of the engine compartment to eliminate this problem. ( my saying, if the manufacturers can save one dollar per car and sell one million cars that equals out to a million additional dollars profit) I'm afraid that you went backwards on this move. Let us know how it works
yea, i know what yall are saying.....i have the cold air piece that travels down to the secondary, but i was to lazy to take it all apart yesterday....i just threw that together in like 10 minutes....i'll post pics of the complete product tomorrow....thanks for the input...

I would just take out the factory air filter and put in a K&N filter, you'll notice a difference in gas mileage and power. Much better air flow from this filter and doesn't clog as easily. A bit costly ($45), but it should save you 1-2 mpg and lasts about 50k miles (you can buy a recharge kit for about $10 to clean and reuse it at that point.
