keyless entry issues

when I push the door handle sometimes it unlocks.
sometimes it locks instead of unlocking
sometimes I stand there for about 30 seconds trying to get it to unlock but it locks instead and I end up just using the keyfob.

once in a while it says the keyfob is not detected but the car starts and runs.

is there some kind of issue with the keyless system in this car
batteries are good in the keyfob and I only have keyfob #2 left. don't have the driver keyfob anymore

is there settings for this in the nav system to open all doors with the door handle also?
sometimes I have a passenger and he has to wait for me to open the door and press the unlock manually

Make sure your key fob is not near your cellphone, your phone will interfere with the key fobs signal. If you have a 2005, they are notorious for having handle issues, some 2006s as well.

For entry settings, you will find those in the MID display. I believe you have to be in park and hold the select button on your steering wheel for a few seconds and the menu will pop up.

You don't have to push anything. The lock sensor is the "bubble" on the outside of the handle. The unlock sensor is on the inside of the handle. If you grab the handle and put your thumb on the bubble, the car may not know what you are trying to do.

M also, as Coastin said, a lot of things can cause interference. Is the fob near a cell phone? Is a power charger or inverter plugged into the car?
