Yesterday was awesome! My wife and I had been looking at Toyota Avalons and Lexus ES330s in my local area. My wife and I were test driving one of the ES330s when we passed an Acura dealer. We decided even though the TL's and RL's would be out of our price range we should atleast go look.

Once we visited the dealer we noticed that we might actually be able to negotiate a RL into our price range. 3 hours and lots of negotiations later we got a pre owned certified vehicle with Bumber to Bumper coverage up to 100k for $24,560 a frickin steal of a deal. Only 34,000 on this car!

I am definitely a proud Acura owner now!

Yup, it's called Redondo Red. I just went to Acura.com to lay the REdondo Red on the new 09 RL. Image is below...I have to say it looks far better in person.

My TL was Redondo Red. It has a nice red glow in the sun and a deep burgandy tone in the shade.

Congratulations. Based on sales numbers, you're either one of us few chumps or the member of an elite clan. Nice car!

 

The only chumps out there are people who spend their money based on what OTHER people think they should spend it on. If the car appeals to your tastes and you feel you paid a fair price, then you are true to yourself and should enjoy the rewards.

I have thought about how precisely he RL fits my needs, and how I must be out of step with the masses. Then I realized I do not own an IPOD, I do not have a IPhone, no Xbox, I wear my pants on the hips, my ballcap usually faces forward, I signal when changing lanes, I vote on issues, and I try not to expect everyone to think as I do.

Yep, I may have fallen off the bandwagon, but I think my RL is a much better ride than it gets recognition for. Once I grew out of the need for public affirmation (and entered Old Fartdom), I began to acknowledge how much this car appeals to me despite the criticisms. And now, I secretly enjoy those moments when someone admires my RL for NOT being mainstream.

Two years later and I still look back at it as I walk away in a parking lot. Two years later and I still thin: 'Wow, I OWN that car!".
