How is water getting into my trunk??
There is a rubber seal around the hinge pipe where it attaches to the trunk lid pipe and another seal around hinge pipe which goes into the trunk. Those two seals get deformed overtime and don't close properly therefore water gets in the trunk when it rains. What i did was applied black silicone bead (sort of like very small sreing) on top of the seals and let it ary dry with the teunk open. Otherway of fixing it is to remove the trunk lid and replace those hinge pipes or seals. I think THIS is the part you need.

There is one surest way to check where it is leaking from. Disassemble the trunk side trims, take out the floor and spare tire (about 10-20 minutes of labor). Get into the trunk with a flashlight, close the trunk and ask someone to wash the car with a pressure washer and look from where the water leaking.
Make sure tailllight wire boot is pointed up, water can run thru and out if pointed down. For me it was the trim piece on each side between hinges and taillights. Its secured by two plastic push in connectors that have openings at the end. One of each is exposed in trunk other of each is out of sight but caulking tip or finger will reach. I just sealed em up and may hafta go over one again but my trunks dry on right and left is 99%. Think i can put all the trim back now! Hope it helps you.
