Fog Light Bulb Replacement Help
Fog Light Bulb Replacement Help
I have a 05' RL and wanted to switch out the factory fog light bulb (H11 size) for a LED bulb. I noticed that the gap in the fog light assembly where the bulb slides in is very narrow (just enough for the standard bulb to slide in). Looking at LED alternatives, many of them have a wide head (more LED's = wider head). Was wondering has anyone made this upgrade and what bulbs they used that worked for them.

Don't do it. The fog lights have a very specific light pattern. They shine to the side of the road and low where light is needed. I doubt any LED light would shine the same way. There is no compelling reason to mess with this safety feature. Leave it alone and use it when necessary.

If driving in the fog is a serious concern for you, LEDs are the wrong way to go. I did have to bend the heat sink open to fit the LED bulbs in. No issues going though the socket.
