Considering a 2011 RL
Considering a 2011 RL
Currently own Silver 08 Tech with 71,000 miles Ideally I would love to step up to a RLX but just can't afford it. Dealer near me have a sweet White 2011 Tech with 50,000 miles for $29,000 I think I can get it down to $27000 Figure I would have to finance about $15,000 with trade which is very managable for me. I know a lot of people are not fans of the 09-12 basically the same car But I kinda like them. Any thoughts for or against?
Thanks
Thanks
Thoughts for: Do it. If I got back into an RL, I would likely go MMC. More HP, better handling, full time paddles, faster shifts... and the exclusivity of an MMC is even more than the 2G.
Thoughts against. Why pay more for the same thing? Your car is 3 years away from a major maintenance (timing belt). I don't see a justifiable reason to pay more for an unnecessary and minimal upgrade. HOWEVER, my opinion on your finances isn't worth dog
. If it were me. I obviously wouldn't (assuming no major issues), but I know some people just like different cars every 3 years.

Thanks everyone - just time for a different car after 2.5 years with the RL. After switching from a 02 TL to RL I want to stick with an Acura and don't want to go back to a TL. Ultimately I will get a used RLX but don't see that happening for another 2 to 3 years. In the mean time my 08 RL 70K miles which is paid for is depreciating in value with my 25 mile commute.Thinking the if make the deal I will be able to trade in for a used RLX in 2 years

Your car won't depreciate that much in 2 years. The biggest hit is the the first 3 which you have already weathered. Take a look at the value of an '06 CMBS with 90k mi to see what yours will be like in 2 years. It doesn't make sense to pay the taxes and interest in an attempt to avoid depreciation.
