05 RL purchase?

Newbie here. Owned an 08 TL. Loved it. Bought a 2010 Accord. hate it. Anyway I drove a 2010 RL Cannot afford a new one right now. Anyway what are your thoughts on an 05 with 106,000 miles? Also asking price is 17,900. It does have navigation.

That is a lot of miles. My guess is the major service at 105K has not been done. Timing belt, plugs, fluids, water pump, etc.

Depends on the condition of the car. But regardless of that, the price should definitely be lower. If it's a private sale, they are def upselling. And an 05RL is a beautiful car, if you have a chance to buy one, do it!!!

Again, make sure that major 105K miles service has been done, or add another $2k to your expected costs. There is no major maintenance on the car until 105K miles, so they can claim it is a 100K mile engine. That being said, we have a member here who has performed three of these maintenances and he is still going strong.

That's a lot of miles as others are noting. If it's had the 105k mile service done, then it may be worth it. If not, I'd knock off at least $1k and see what the seller says.

Also, you may want to purchase a brief membership at Galves to see what trade and sales prices are. KBB and Edmunds are wildly inaccurate in my experience in setting prices.

BTW, ALL 2005s have navigation as there was only one trim that year--fully loaded (no PAX/CMBS that year).

Good to see 05s are coming down nicely in price. I'm still thinking about grabbing one.....
