Checked your motor mounts lately???
So if anybody saw the for sale thread for my wheels on my ride they will notice it was because i need the money to pay for the new mounts i needed to replace. I had a vibration in my car that felt like a tire imbalance that kept getting worse and worse. At two sets of wheels and almost even going to turn my rotors it had been found that my motor mounts were shot. For those that might begin to feel something coming on or they even want to check "just in case" here were my findings while swapping mine out.
This is what a NEW mount looks like for the Passenger side

This was what i found in my car on the Passenger side

This is what a NEW lower tranny mount looks like

How bout what was on my car

For real ?
How about the front mount? I dont have a pic of a new one because i didnt buy it at the same time as i wanted to be sure mine was shot before ordering just in case in hopes of saving a little money. That didnt happen, looks like ill be ordering the front as well.

The motor mount swap isnt very difficult if you have basic tools and mechanic hands. I used an engine hoist to hold the motor up while i swapped mounts off but you can be just as effective using a floor jack from the bottom and doing them. So throwing my findings out there to warn some of what to look for in case you start to feel the shakes in your car obviously from the pics my car had the SERIOUS shakes but it started off very mild.

I was warned that motor mounts should be checked when I had my timing belt done. It appears that trade docs indicate to check for the mounts when doing such tasks. My mounts were OK at 101K but it appears to be a fairly frequent issue. My friend had 2 bad at around 65K miles.
Thanks for the tip. I'm scheduled to have my RL serviced next week and despite that fact that I am currently just over 40k miles, I will definitely have the mounts checked out. I have been dealing with a slight vibration lately.

For the passenger side and tranny mount it was $332 and changed shipped to me and i swapped them in about an hour myself. The front one is going to cost me like another $150 or so and take about an hour on that one alone because i need to remove the radiator fan out of my way first.
I dont drink beer tryin to watch my gut, and i hear eberr is the worst for you... but thanks!
