Thank Goodness For This Group (Dome Light Fix)
A few days ago I noticed the dome light in my '17 RDX Advance wasn't working. I tried the switch on the light assembly, no joy. Checked the bulb (LED changed years ago) still fine but there's no power to the bulb connections. I checked the fuse (engine compartment box labeled "interior lighting", checks out. What the heck? So I visit this group and search for "dome light". There aren't many mentions but someone years ago typed the words "master switch". Huh? Ok, it's been years since I read the manual but dig it up and waddya know.
If your dome light suddenly stops working, look at the master switch just to the right of the moon roof control. It's a 3 position switch. You can set it to turn the dome light on from the front seat (doors closed) or come on when the doors open but you can also set it to "off" and somehow I'd done that, probably while trying to get the moonroof to do my bidding. That switch does not control the tailgate bulbs or your map lights (which still come on when you open a door) so the "off" setting isn't there for stealthy approaches in darkness.
Hopefully this post will surface the next time someone is looking for a suddenly inoperative dome light/interior light.
Cheers!
