Dome light issues?

Alright everyone, I promise I'm not entirely clueless. 2013 RDX Tech. Cannot for the life of me get the dome light to come on, either with the switch or by opening the door(s). Map lights work fine by pushing their respective buttons.

I have repeatedly verified that the setting is programmed to come on when the door is opened and stay lit for 30 seconds. Again, even sliding the overhead switch to the "On" position does nothing. Makes it very difficult to see anything in the car at night, especially the rear sections where the glow of the map lights won't reach.

Before I begin checking fuses or calling the dealer, anyone else experience this? Any insight will be appreciated. Thanks!

If the lights don't come on when you slide the switch to "On", I would suspect a fuse or other electrical problem.

God luck, Jim

There is a switch on the front (near the right hand map light) that controls all of the interior lights - make sure that is switched to on.

^^^ There is also a dome light above the rear seating area (in the middle) and that too has a switch. Initially, mine was set to "off" so I had to put in the "door" setting.

Wow...that's all it was. Thanks for pointing this out. It's my wife's car and I'm not in it very much except to help her figure out all of the technology at this point and I never noticed this switch. A cursory review of the manuals did not prove fruitful (and, admittedly, when I pulled out all of the many possible manuals that this type of information could be found in I didn't have the time or energy to review each one in detail). Per your helpful suggestion, I found and switched the master switch to "door" and now the dome light and map lights come on when a door opens. Success! Duh.

So to review...there are individual switches on each interior light, a master switch up by the map lights, and a customizable setting in the system that all affect interior light settings, all of which impact the others. Perhaps a bit more complicated than it needs to be? Interestingly, you can turn on the map lights by pushing their respective switches even if the master switch is on the "off" position as ours was, but you cannot do that with the dome light...with the master switch in the off position, the dome light is inoperable. However, until you turn the master switch into the "door" position, the map lights will not come on when you open the door. Whew.

Anyway...I'll chalk it up to a lesson learned and appreciate the help given here.

2014 RDX Interior Lights won't turn off

Can someone explain to me where this switch is the controls all of the interior lights? All of a sudden my 2014 RDX tech interior lights are on and they won't turn off.

The only switch I know of is the one that's in the backseat area attached to the light there. I have that set to "door " and it remains on while I drive. I can turn that off by moving to off though.

But the two interior lights that are right by the rearview mirror, I can't get those to turn off. When I hit each of their buttons, they just get a little bit brighter, and when I hit them again to get a little bit dimmer but still stay on.

The button is up by the sunroof controls towards the passenger side. It's a slide button that goes forward and back.

map lights come on after car is parked for the night

I have a TLX Tech/Advanced AWD and have a new problem. old problem was gas pump (two chambers?) and whole harness had to be changed. Anyway, now my map lights come on after i park it for night. Had it on middle switch, not off, just when door opens. I know have it off. Any suggestions? People come to door and tell me lights are on. Not every night, intermittent. Weird. All doors including hood are closed tightly. My husband parks his truck next to mine and we wonder if it is when he goes out and opens his truck with his fob. My extra fob is not on his key chain. Suggestions? Acura says to turn it to off position and see if it happens, not so far. So, i guess i have to take it in.
