Interior dome light doesn't work...help
Alright, my problem seems pretty simple to me but I can't figure out what the hell is wrong. My interior dome light (roof light) hasn't worked since I got the car. I have checked the fuses, replaced the bulb and I cannot get it to work. The dealer told me they can't seem to find a problem and that it is just a small problem and not to worry about it. If anyone can help me out, I woul really appreciate it. I'm hoping it's just something small and i'm just an idiot. Anyone with the same problem?
I don't have any problems with my map lights working. It's just my dome light for some reason. I've taken the dome light off of the ceiling and there are no wires or terminals. Only mounting bolts for the light to bolt to. I don't know if this helps anyone figure out why I can't solve this problem...
Get a multimeter, or a voltage test probe to see if the dome light is actually getting any power. If not, definitely check the fuses again, and replace it even if it looks ok. If that doesn't work, you might have a loose connection somewhere, which will probably take quite a bit of detective work.

Ok I know it's been a while, but now Ive pulled down the head liner to see if there were loose wires. There is nothing connected to the dome light assemble period. It's bolted to the roof and thats it. I can see the wires for the sunroof and for the antenna and what not, but nothing for the dome light.

So is there supposed to be wiring connected to the dome console? Or does it work off a battery or something? Do you have a wiring diagram or do you know where to try and locate the wires that should be running to it?
Dome Light Issue
My daughter has a 2002 CL-S 3.2. I made a repair to the dome light about 2 months ago. She has the car at her place so I am writing this from memory.
Her problem was the driver's side button was NOT switching the light on. The passenger side button was working fine. When pressing the driver's side button you could NOT hear the CLICK. So I detached the dome assembly from the roof and disconnected the wiring connector. After inspecting the assembly, I noticed that the button that you push was ok. The button in turn pushes up against the actual clicker to make contact with the wiring terminal. BUT the thin plastic housing slot that enables the clicker to slide up and down in, had a tiny sliver of plastic broken off. And that was enough to force the clicker into a more diagonal position when pushed instead of vertical and of course not allowing it to make proper electrical contact.
To resolve: I decided to get a thin piece of plastic and glue onto the plastic housing to better support the clicker. I got the plastic from a Lowe's pricing badge (that they put on their shelves) that a worker gave me. I just cut a tiny piece off and used E6000 glue to hold in place. I let it dry overnight. Then I just reassembled everything back in place. The light has not failed since then.
(A parts yard quoted me $105.00 for a used dome assembly)
I told my daughter not to use too much force on the button though because it is a very gingerly fix.
