Intermittent Power Socket (Cigarettes Lighter) Failure
Intermittent Power Socket (Cigarettes Lighter) Failure
Hello all.
Wondering if anyone has had this issue in their 2016-2018 RDX: recently my front power socket failed. I've changed the fuse (fuse slot #27) - I'm guessing the old one was shot (looked burnt at the part that is meant to break). Also replaced the center console one (fuse slot #12), after long delay (died long time ago). Both 20 amp fuses, per instructions.
The center console socket works great. The front one, however, worked for a few hours, then stopped after I stopped to fill up with gas. I tried taking it out to see if it's a connection issue, but the position is too awkward to reach the disconnection tabs. Tried wiggling it, to no avail. Yesterday, i randomly plugged in my dash cam, it worked. Today, the socket worked for 40 minutes, flickered for a bit when i needed to disconnect and connect the dashcam (it was frozen), and then stopped again fully. Wiggling didn't help, neither did lightly slapping the housing to see if it would at least flicker.
Just a full disconnect like last time. The fuse was swapped for testing, so it is not the issue.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
