Pandora Connectivity
Pandora Connectivity
Hello,
I'm a little surprised I couldn't find an existing thread on this as I felt it was more widespread than just me. I've had my 2017 RDX for 3 years now and from the beginning I felt the Pandora interface (via Bluetooth connection to my iPhone) was unstable. I access Pandora via the on screen (vehicle head unit) icon and it obviously connects to my phone's Pandora app. This will work for several months and then all of a sudden, I cannot get the app to launch from the vehicles Pandora icon. After about 20 seconds I get an error and a message stating it cannot connect to Pandora. 100% of the time when I have my vehicle serviced (oil changes/general maintenance) by Acura, at a time when I am receiving this error, upon collecting my vehicle at the end of the day the problem is fixed. The Service Advisor has no idea what is causing it or the fix but said they load system updates to the vehicle. Within the two weeks, this began again. Today I noticed an IOS version update is available for my iPhone which I completed. I will test this out later to see if it fixed the problem. Am I missing an obvious issue that is causing my connectivity problem? This only applies to Pandora as all other functionality of iPhone to vehicle communication seems to work fine. I've seen elsewhere to unpair and repair the phone to the vehicle. I'd like to address the problem at the source and not remedy by reinstalling it every few months.
Thanks in advance for any insight or solutions!

I MAY have found a solution to this. Yesterday I figured I'd just give up on the Bluetooth connection to the head unit and use a iPhone lightening cable to the USB port instead. Ran Pandora that way for about 20 minutes. Then last night I forgot to connect via cable and Pandora worked just fine via Bluetooth. Same this morning. After all this, I am seeing that after iPhone IOS updates, connectivity of the Pandora Mobile App to the head unit via Bluetooth is consistently a problem. I've only tried this fix once but connecting via cable to USB and running the app, seems to have re-established the connection between the two. I am not smart enough to know why this would be a fix but it seems to have worked for me.
