Bluetooth audio lag
Bluetooth audio lag
Just got my 2014 base and I'm LOVING it. Only gripe is the noticeable lag (~2sec) when streaming Bluetooth audio via my iPhone 5. I'm up to date with the latest software on my phone.
I can deal with the lag in response time when switching songs, but it KILLS my experience why using voice guided directions with GoogleMaps. I almost miss my in-town turns every time!
Also, it makes it impossible to watch a video using BT audio. (I like to watch Netflix in my car at lunch with the phone mounted on my GripGo.)
My old pioneer AVH model head unit did not have this problem using the same phone. This leads me to believe it's an Acura HFL problem. For now I have to use the USB or aux inputs.
Anyone else having the same issue?

I use audio streaming for google maps directions all the time and I haven't noticed the issue with missing turns you describe. I did get my 2013 RDX HFL updated to the most current (at the time) firmware...I've posted about that elsewhere...and I use a Nexus 4 phone.
I suppose it's possible I'm driving slower than you are so I won't miss the turn...I slow when the navigation warns you that the turn is imminent before the actual turn is reached.

For my daily commute I usually plug my iPhone 5S in to USB so it charges. Plus, the audio quality is much better especially for music. One the weekends, when I'm running errands, I switch over to the BT for convenience. Typically, I'm listening to podcasts and audiobooks so the audio quality isn't as important.
Hi, CR-V owner here. Just spreading the word. The audio lag is caused a software bug affecting Acuras and Hondas. Here's a link to the relevant thread on the CRV board I'm on if interested: http://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/...ill-there.html
There's no firmware update for it at the moment. If it bugs you the way it bugs me, I suggest reporting it to your dealer and also opening a case with Honda Tech Support (http://automobiles.honda.com/informa...relations.aspx).
Enjoy the weekend!
