Arrow Intermittent P0328 ("Check Emission System") Code

Got the "Check Emission System" warning recently on my 2016 RDX but only on some trips. Other trips its completely gone.

Ran the codes with my OBD code reader and got P0328.

My understanding is that this code is not that a knock was detected but rather that the sensor itself is giving inaccurate readings out of range- indicating a faulty sensor rather than a knock condition. Is this correct?

Looks like its a time consuming job to replace so I'd like to try/rule out some easier things to fix it first.

Any tips?

First, visually inspect what might be causing the knocking, such as the intermediate shaft bearing or something hitting the engine. If everything is fine, then the knock sensor needs to be diagnosed and most likely replaced.

My understanding is that it would be a different OBD code if the engine was actually knocking and that code P0328 means either the sensor or wiring has a fault.

The engine runs very smooth, and even running 94 octane doesn't make the code go away, which sort of reinforces that its an issue with the sensor or wiring.
