How to Keep Rear Camera Clean

Is it just me or does the rear camera get dirty easily? When I had my RL, I almost never cleaned my rear camera. However, the RDX camera is always dirty.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep it clean? Maybe some Rain-X?

Hadn't thought of RainX but everyday I'm cleaning mine. Not quite as annoying as the dripping mud from the trunk everytime I have that open.

Its always a chore to keep this lens clean in the snowy weather especially. I have had a backup camera since my 04 MDX.

Heres the thing, I think a cheap car like a Hyundai Elantra or something similar has it right. The lens flips up when in reverse from behind the Hyundai emblym, thus keeping it clean. You would think a much costlier RDX would have this feature.

I noticed the same thing. In fact, the entire back of the car , window to bumper, seems to get dirty very quickly in inclement weather - seemingly far faster than my old Highlander.

I am now in the the habit of carefully wiping it off with a spit laden finger when ever I am at the rear of the vehicle.

What a pain. I know it's fairly minor, but it's still a hassle.

WTF, Nissan had a "clean camera" technology since last year (FF to 35 seconds): http://on.aol.com/video/nissan-s-int...mera-517816196

For those that didn't follow the link posted up there, Rain X water repellant is what you need. Just spray some on the camera lens
