brake pads replaced
brake pads replaced
hi
I took my Rdx to the dealership for normal service and to check a couple of issues (slight vibration at 80mph, VCM vibration) and at the end they told me that they had re-balanced the wheels (for free) and replaced (for free as well) the brake pads (they mentioned a bulletin or something of that sort)
My rdx drives now very quiet & smooth and needless to say that I am very satisfied
I am curious now so my question is: is there any bulletin that advices replacement of the brake pads for 2013 Rdx's experiencing vibration?
thanks

There is a TSB for glazed pads on the 2013 RDX. TSB 13-020.
It doesn't deal with vibrations, though. It only has to do with squealing noise.
It requires replacement of pads and return springs, along with resurfacing the rotors. Wife's 2013 RDX is going in tomorrow for that. I can update after the service visit.
She's already had the wheels rebalanced and rotated due to vibrations.

I know the clunking noise you are talking about. Ours does that when it's wet or cold. Very pleasant symphony and confidence-inspiring.

So, it's been a week since I visited the dealership. They at first refused to acknowledge the problem. They finally recognized the problem, but then refused to cover it under warranty.
After talking to the service manager about the TSB, 4 Acura/Honda products in the family in 10 years, etc, etc., he said he was going to talk to the zone rep. At this point, I can't even get a phone call back from them after a week.
Acura has gone downhill since we bought our first Acura a decade ago. Product and service both suck.

One Wonders How They Can Continue Down This Path
That is mega suckage re. their lack of responsiveness/follow-up, not even taking into account your long history w/ Honda. Factor that in & one could reasonably expect much better comms & service at ALL levels.
Do keep us in the loop as this does not bode well for Acura/Honda in this country.

Yea I have the squealing breaks issue (sounds just like the squeal when your pads normally need replacing). Only 15K miles so I brought it in. They said there's a TSB for it and they have ordered me the replacement parts and are installing all under warranty.
Almost a month after the initial visit, they finally got it approved and done at no charge yesterday.
I talked to a couple of the technicians. They said the newer cars are experiencing this problem because of the brake pads, and they installed a different type. Take it with a grain of salt.
No more squealing... for now. I fully expect it to happen again in another 20k miles or so. Honda's brakes have sucked for decades. I can attest for their suckage since at least 2013 when we bought our first Acura.
For those of you having no difficulty at all getting it done quickly at no charge, shake your service adviser's hand.
I had to wait almost a month (granted, with Christmas and New Year's thrown in there).

Thank you for posting this, particularly the link to the TSB. My 2013 AWD RDX is experiencing this issue and I thought that maybe the pads were worn and needed to be replaced after 36K miles. When I took it to the dealer for an oil change today, I referenced the TSB. My VIN appears to be in range. We'll see what they find.
[QUOTE=bchoudhu;14917987]I had the same issue and took it to the dealer and they mentioned the notice and did the work. Am surprised that this information is not sent out proactively
