how long does it take for the dealership to swap trannys? and will they provide a car while the tranny is being swapped?how do i quilify for a new tranny?i bought this car used and it has less then 60,00 miles on it. what do i have to bring to the dealership?

 

mine took 1 week. loaners depend on the dealer but if you call in advance and ask for one they may help you out.
you qualify for a replacement tranny if yours is having symptoms. Have you check your tranny fluid? shouldn't have to bring anything into the dealer.

 

i ahve a 01 cl type s doesnt it have extended warranty on trannys. cant i just replace it without symtoms as long as it hasnt been 100,000 miles or 7 yrs?

 

My tranny went out on a Friday afternoon. Towed my '01 CL-S to an Atlanta Acura dealer. The dealer provided a '05 TL loaner. I got my CL back the following Thursday.

 

Nice to see they gave you a loaner. My tranny died on 10-April-2005. The car has been at the dealer since Tuesday and no loaner was offered to me.

 

So, if I am reading this right, my CLS has a 100,000 miles or 7 yr warranty on the transmission, even if I don't have an extended warranty. Is this right? I just bought the car with 57K miles on it from a small dealer.

 

I bought my CL Type-S a few months ago with 57K miles. I saw a link on this site for a free VIN check for maintenence history. Does anyone know what thread it is in??
