Lug Nuts

Today while I was finishing up painting my calipers black, I noticed that on one of my wheels, the lug nuts fit about a quarter inch deeper than on any of the other wheels. Does anybody have any idea why this is? The wheels are RJ servos by the way. Thanks

are you the only owner of the vehicle?... if not, maybe the previous owner broke a wheel stud and had to get one replaced.... and the shoppe that did the work, screwed it up.

did you ask the maker Rondy (RonJon), the guy whom you bought the rims off of ???

I got the car CPO about 6 months ago. I have taken off and put the wheels back on many times and have never noticed, not to say it hasn't been like that. Also, i got the wheels on the black market, not directly from rondog, so no, i haven't asked him.

I think I just figured out the problem. I went outside and took that wheel off and happened to notice that on the inside it says ET+42 rather than 50. They are 17's so I'm guessing that it wouldn't give me rubbing problems even though I'm dropped. I haven't checked all 4, but I know at least one of the others says +50. How they got mixed in, I dont know. I'll have to PM the guy i got them from.

By the way, it was all 5 lugs on one wheel that were deeper than the lugs on the 3 other wheels. Not just one lug.

Also, could this be why my car was making a lot of noise from the tires?

yeah thats definetly the problem. 3 with a +50 and 1 with a +42. Since they are 17's they aren't rubbing at all, but can they cause any other problems? Is this the reason why I'm hearing a lot of noise from the tires?

Yes that could be the reason why you're hearing road noise... I per say have never had this kind of issue, but someone made a mistake.

better contact the seller and straighten that issue out...

so you'd say that i should definetly get another wheel ASAP? i can order today if its absolutely necessary. I've had the wheels on for probably 2 weeks now, there hasn't been any vibration in the wheel or pedals, but just a lot of tire noise.

tire noise could be from the type of tire you're running or the road conditions..

I personally would not ride around on 2 differnt off-sets unless I was driving a BWM with staggered wheel configuration....

The different offsets wont cause any serious problems, but it'll look funky. I would contact the seller and tell him the problem and make him fix it. I'm sure you can get a single wheel for not too much either.

What if I bought an 8mm spacer? Would that make it right or am I better off just buying a new wheel?
