Angry Is My Transmission Toast...?

So, this morning, on the way to work, the car suddenly lunged (felt like a really bad shift) as I was slowing down...

Then, both VSA lights and check engine lights lighted up and my D5 light started to flash. Even when I switched to D4, my D5 light remained on and flashing...

I also could not switch into Sports-shift...

I left it with the dealership and have not yet heard back from them but thought I'd check with the experts here...

Yeah, it's been confirmed by the dealership...

What gets me really is that they told me to drive off with it...and it's now been 2 days of me using the vehicle. The auto's shifting is awful and the lurches feel so unhealthy...

Obviously, they will replace the tranny...my concern now is, does driving around with a bad transmission have any other bad effects to the vehicle?

iirc, there was an instance of someone driving their vehicle when the tranny fully went out and he ended up crashing into the car in front of him because the transmission locked up and jerked so rough.

im shocked they told you to drive off with it because that puts everyone else on the road in danger.

they should of given you a rent car. hell i took mine in for half a day iirc work and i got a lender car for 2 days. go back and tell them. it is their transmission issue (they even already admitted it) so they should not make this a hassle for you.

Also, ask if they are going to replace your motor mounts free of charge due to the extreme excess wear due to the faulty tranny that they are making you drive still.

Make sure they check the mounts.

Well, I got a new tranny...it was still under warranty.

But, in the process, I had two giant black-eyes:

1- They said my car was "fine" to drive for the 5 days I waited for the transmission to arrive. So, for the 5 days, I had to do with bad lurching and permanent 3rd gear driving. Coincidentally, they had to courtesy vehicle to lend me. Not happy.
2- My Versus lip kit was damaged when I picked it up the day they inspected the car when my tranny went. I'm sure it was them because I had no damage there before. But, they refuse to admit fault on this...so, I'm fawked.
