My check engine light why me?

I have 03 cl 6mt and my check engine light comes on I toke my car to the auto zone to see if they could tell me what it was they put the car on the computer it said i have a miss fire on all six cylinders. Thats strange to me because if anyone drive the car they don't feel it.
The said i should try to giving the car a quick tune up may be that would help so I change the oil and the park plugs unfortunately the light is still their if any knows what this might be i would love to know what to do thanks you.

perhaps its a bad coil plug. i know this is not the way to do it but it never failed me this far.
start engine, now start unplugging/plugging each coil pack. if the engine idles funny at any time you unplugged one pack then that cylinder is ok. if you see no change in idle then thats the cylinder that houses the bad coil plug.
also it could be caused by clogged egr ports/manifold. there should be a bulletin for this floating around here.

If its all 6 cylinders its not likely to be a bad coil. Reset the ecu (disconnect the negative battery cable or pull the #13 fuse on the passenger side fuse box) and see if it comes back. It could be bad gas, valves out of spec, vacuum leak, and so on.

Thanks guys for the info i did reset the battery and it came back after a couple of days civicdrivr, let me ask u guys this how often do we need to replace our coil pack and is it best to replace it with the ones from the dealer or is their a good aftermarket one out their .
See replceing the coil might be the cheaper way right now it might work and it might not fi not then i guess i would have to find a shop to look into all that other stuff valves out of spec, vacuum leak, and so on. And i dnt think its bad gas i feed big boy nothing but the best always 93..lol

Did you get the code re-read after it came back? I highly doubt all 6 cylinders are misfiring due to coil packs.

Did you do any work to the car recently?

It is probably coil pack. Just get one and swap one by one till codes stop . ECM can detect misfire but cant precisely tell which one was it . Usually codes are thrown in for few or all cylinders

the multiple misfire code typically occurs even though only one coil pack is bad.

Do exactly what celynka is instructing and you should be ok.

Isn't there a way to check engine codes through the ignition, like a pattern of lights to follow which represent codes which can be referenced somewhere online?

WRONG, but only on chrysler's with the JTEC computer system (that i know of)(basically trucks and vans)(might be cars also, idk), you turn the key on, off like 5 times in 10 seconds, and it will put codes out on the odometer display (first years were only a numbered code specific to chrysler, but later ones will put out an OBD2 code though so like P0???)
