low whine with slight gas

Hi guys. I just recently started hearing a very quiet low whine coming from the engine compartment. I checked my belts and they look ok along with the fans and such. I only hear it when i lightly , very lightly touch the gas pedal. Is this a concern or no? Im bringin my CL to the dealership for resealing of the headlights next week. Is it worth mentioning? Thanks, any imput is good.

Describe the "whine" you're hearing.

I've noticed a slight rattle from the engine with a slight touch of the gas...the sound is non-existent at idle and only happens with just a touch of the pedal, and then is gone once you accelerate. The dealer said that it was the air-filter box wasn't secure, or had been broken... I took a look and sure enough their was some play there...

I had a low whine in my engine when it was stock. The cause of it was a loose cover on the air intake. Press on the air intake's cover and see if the whine goes away. If you install a cold air intake, you will always hear this whine (I have an icebox).

I first noticed this noise about 2 weeks ago and didnt think anything of it. I read all the posts on this forum, and still didnt resolve my problem. I just installed the Comptech Icebox Cold Air Intake the other day, and i thought the noise would go away or at least be less noticable, but sure enough its still there.

I hope someone can find out where exactly this noise is coming from so we can all fix our cars. I dont know if it annoys you guys, but its pretty annoying to me. Hell if i really wanted to hear that noise everday, I would just install a supercharger!!

Anyway, Ill keep doing my HW on this, and hopefully get to the bottom of it. My two good friends are mechanics, and one of them said it could be from my Strut Bar pushing against a hose or line. I'll keep you all posted on whatever i hear next about this problem, and hope you all do the same!

i'm with you guys, same noise.

I tried to check if it's worse in warm or cool weather, hot or cold engine.. well seems that on mine it's a little louder not long after i start driving, then it dampens a little. all stock engine and all the plastics are there.

The sound doesn't bother me that much though, does sound like some weird supercharger or some hybrid type cr@p. maybe the alternator is buzzin? I'd expect it would cause some voltage spikes, but my multimeter doesn't show anything funny..
