First time posting, so I hope I'm doing this right!

Problem: 2001 ACURA CL Type S, 220k miles. Car doesn't start. Battery is 6 months old and is giving me 12.8 on voltmeter. I can hear the fuel pump engage when I turn the key and attempt to start it and nothing. I tried the fuel pump relay tapping trick, but like I said I can hear the fuel pump priming. Car has no modifications and has been running fine until yesterday (last time it started). Made sure immobolizer light went out upon placing the key in the on position and nothing else was next to the steering column.

 

does it crank? Did you change your timing belt?

 

check your starter relay. if it checks out tap your starter with a hammer, if the car starts, replace starter.

 

The brushes in the starter are hanging up because they are worn. Happened to me a few months ago. Rapped on my starter to get the brushes to re-contact the starter's armature. Replaced the starter and all's well again.....
