abs pump fuse
abs pump fuse
keeps blowing......over and over again.....sometimes the new fuse will last 2 days sometimes 5 sometimes 7. No rhyme or reason as to why its blowing...dealership said abs pump fine. Can i try 40a fuse or any other suggestions. The stock fuse is 30a
well the dealership told me that they would have to check the elctrical and do advanced diagnostics. I have come to the concusion that it blows when the vsa kicks in....and it seems to be geered more towards the passenger side wheel losing traction than the drivers side...........maybe a speed sensor.....im at a loss!

Never heard of pump failing but that is the only thing that can draw over 30A. If you will be looking for a used pump let me know
well i tried a bigger fuse 40a and no fire or smoking and havent blown it yet......lights still come on for abs pump failure but the go off the next time the car is started....I am beginning to think its the abs pump motor!
depending on the type of motor used to run the ABS pump, if it's not starting correctly, it can draw and absurdly high amt of current, which in turn will blow the fuse at the moment the ABS pump and motor activates. there's really nothing else in that ABS circuit that could draw anywhere near 30amps. however, a DC motor that's not starting correctly could. in which case, your only option, pretty much, is to replace the motor, or the entire pump assembly if it's a one-piece unit.
