I've been experiencing a severe chassis vibration with my cl for quite some time now...

I believe its caused by my engine mounts, trying to decide if I should take the vehicle in to the dealership for them to diagnose the issue or, if I should just replace them myself?

Also the two torque dampers on the manual trans are pretty loose...was thinking nrg dampers for both?

If I decide to replace the mounts myself, which mount should i replace first?

Can I replace them in sets? are there any aftermarket solutions?

after doing a little more research on this site, it appears that the innovative mounts have excessive vibrations, once the rear mount is installed...

maybe i should go with aftermarket front, and sides, and leave the rear mount as the oem, or a replacement oem, if the front and side mounts don't solve some of the vibe issue!

im thinking i'll install the ingalls damper, to help overall also

Opinions?

I don't think there is an aftermarket rear mount alternative for the six speed. I know I could not find one back in June 2010 when I replaced mine. I just went OEM on the front and rear. I know there is an aftermarket front, rear and side for the Auto guys.

There are a few tips on the thread below from when I did my rear and front mounts that may help if you decide to DIY.

Good Luck!

There aren't really many options. I am not sure if you can even buy the innovative front or side anymore. The only real option would be to poly fill yourself or wait for the ones that are supposed to be made but who knows if they will be, taking years it seems.

You can buy 2 nrg torque dampers and replace the stock with those, and also the ingalls stiffy damper.

Poly filling your mounts and adding torque dampers is going to increase the vibrations just to give you a heads up. If your looking for the least amount of vibrations possible you want just the stock mounts.

I have the innovative 60a mounts and the vibrations are not that bad at all. You barely notice it actually. When the A/C is on the vibrations are slightly more noticable but never annoying. To me the trade off is worth it. You will never have to worry about your mounts going bad. The many positives outweight the negetives of slight vibrations!

You have an Accord though, and the Innovative mounts for the Accord tend to last which is the complete opposite of what they do on the CL.

IMO, replace them all at once. If any of the other mounts are bad youre just going to shorten the life of the new good mount.

If you want the mounts to last a bit longer, fill them with poly-urethane. The Ingalls Stiffy and NRG dampers help as well.

Im running all three dampers along with 94A side and rear mounts, an 80A front mount and OEM tranny mounts. The car vibrates at idle, but while driving it is no different from stock. Wheel hop is nearly non-existent. I will be replacing the front mount with a 94A mount in the near future.

That is very interesting. I wonder why that the innovative mounts don't last in the CL....

Because Innovative is inept when it comes to listening to customers complaints.

The materials used are not up to task, nor was the design.

thanks all who have responded!!!

I guess i'll have to invest into an 03 service manual!!!

does nrg make different dampers? im assuming they would have to be modified? how difficult is that?

I messed with all the aftermarket mounts. Just replace them with new stock ones. Once I went back to stock I was so happy. Felt like a new car after all the vibrations from the aftermarket options.
