Psst. Your new avatar is second-hand. I think Volly had it for a while.

I like the blackout trim chrome grille doesn't look to out of place, if anything the gold wheels/blue calipers/black paint clash a bit. I'm sure it'll look a ton better once you get the black wheels.

BTW whatever happened to your second retrofit?

Yeah, Blackout tape, it's okay...not as clean as it could be.

some cars do look better with a little bit of chrome, especially darker color cars (but it can still easily be overdone though)
while most lighter colored cars look better with out chrome (either color-matched or blacked out parts [ie:headlights])

Yea, I was pretty sure the avatar was used somewhere else. Im not home so I cant change it

I have to take new pics of the car. I did a mini detail Friday before going to NY and changed a few things up. The retro is in process still. I am trying to make my mind up on a few things with it before I close them up.

The thing that always bothered me with the CL was the trim around the front and rear window was black and then they had chrome around the side windows. It didnt match.

so you like the Mexican chromed out look then... (or just all blacked out)

and it's also easier for you to paint them also, because your door handles are already blacked out, compared to chrome (yes the TL can swap for a set of CL door handles, but only easily up front though, back door handles mount different; but the shape is the same as far as the "cutout")

Thats kinda racist.

But yes, I despise chrome. Always have. I think that having the trim blacked out makes the car look smaller too.

I dont really feel any difference, but I like the way it looks.

I do have tinted windows, but its rather light. 50% up front, 35% in the back. Ive had problems with illegal tint in VA in the past and I didnt want to deal with the hassle.

Very stealthy, love it. Get some tint, nothing dark necessary even 35% would look good. Keept me out of trouble so far and still allows me to see when i'm backing up in the night/rain.

Ya know, looking at that 2nd pic, I think your car would look better with 01 tails.

edit: nm about the tint. I couldnt see it, looked stock

i did that on my tl probably a year at least ago, but left the chrome on the "trim" intact though

Looks great. Interested to see how it will look with the new retro.

Any road lamps in your future? I think the openings look kinda cool right now, goes with the whole blacked out theme though. Personal preference, I guess.

It took some finessing to get the grille to fit properly (and I could probably tweak it a bit more) but other then that it fit fine. Its the trunk thats the issue, which I am hoping my fix for it will work.

Id like to get a set of fog lights, but its not a priority. We'll see though. I dont really want to mount them in the inserts though because that would block air into my intake (I punched out the holes in that insert so air passes through).

Just got back home from NY too. Only used 2 tanks of gas on the entire trip, which was ~850 miles total. I beat on the car a few times too.

If you can get the CF trunk on there and make it look clean I'll consider to sell you the custom CF trunk lip...

I love how you say you're going to "make" the trunk fits instead of "seeing if" it fits. that must be a kickass custom lip

Its like a normal M5 lip, just made out of carbon fiber and molded specifically for our trunk. He got to it before I could
