Aww, how cute, the widdle CL owners are showing up.

Question: Have you considered swapping the seats for something a little more aggressive? Not a hardcore one-piece bucket or anything, but something like S2000 seats.

Dont be jealous of our rare-ness

I thought about swapping seats. Im leaning towards the RSX seats. The CL seats do have decent bolsters though and the heated portion is nice when its freezing out.

Some sort of an update:

I had to buy the new projectors from two different sellers. I got the first package, which was supposed to be the ballast, various wires, and the projector. The projector was missing. The seller said they lost it. They refunded me without a problem and told me to keep the other parts (I have no use for them though ).

I was pissed. These projectors are tough to come by and I thought I would have to fall back on my second option.

I decided to check again today and lo and behold, there was one newly listed. I picked it up so now I will have two projectors to complete this retro with. I just hope they get here soon enough for me to complete the retro in time for the Great Falls meet

Also, I decided to check out the page for the projector I bought that was lost, and its a good thing I never received it. I noticed then that the bulb holder was snapped off of it. That wouldve been money wasted.

The Progress RSB came in on Thursday. I might be able to install it this week but I doubt it.

I also had to order new headers. Kinda sucks because I didnt want to drop the money on them, but the design should give me a nice bump in power

Long tube headers. The primaries will be longer and should give me some decent torque gains.

No link. I wanted something else for headers. Nothing wrong with the XS aside from the cracks, but I want something.....better. Hopefully much better. Ill be doing dyno runs to see what gains they give me.

Yea, Paul is making them.

I talked to Sean at P2R over a year ago and he was hesitant to make another set of headers but quoted me some ridiculous amount like $1600. Seans were equal length and pretty complex. He recently parted out his Accord and I tried to buy them off him but he sold them already. Pauls are long tube headers. Simple design and I know they are going to fit properly. Theyre all stainless too. Im not sure what P2R used for their headers.

I am.

There might be one problem with the numbers though. Im running very rich right now and that may be due to the cracks (not all the exhaust gases are getting to the O2 so it thinks its running lean). If thats the case, my AFR is going to get back in check with the new headers and make more power regardless. So the numbers will be off.

But when I do the after dyno (already did a before, but depending on the weather when it comes time to install, I may redo it) Im going to pay attention to the AFRs.

According to Paul, with my AFRs where they are, Im leaving ~10whp on the dyno.

Ive noticed that my car doesnt have the same punch it did and the exhaust sounds different now. I also smell a shit load of unburt fuel from it. My MPGs have started to slip a bit too. I cant wait to get them on the car. My goal is still 340whp on motor.

If I really am leaving ~10whp out there because of my fueling, thats ~305whp. Im not expecting crazy gains from the new headers. Theyll probably make the same as CT, but due to the design the curve will appear different. I do expect more torque then CT though. I also think theres about 20whp left in it that can be accessed through tuning. P2R picked up some impressive gains through tuning on the EMS.

Sounds good so far. I was thinking of finding a shop to make me a set of custom headers too, p2r never agreed to make me a set either. Wonder if it is even worth it since i have comptech now. Would there be any benefit to opening up the middle of the exhaust to 3" or would 2.5 all the way be best?

you will for sure see torque gains, and i bet a bit of hp as well. Those will be perfect for your setup. I was reading that thread on the other site about the accord equal length headers. Nice gains over CT.

Remember that putz Nupe...his 3.5 had nice gains with a 3" b-pipe.

2.5" is good for NA. The exhaust gases may slow down once they hit the 3" area which isnt good.

Yea I was looking at that thread for the equal length headers too. I wish something came of it.

Heres the dyno that was posted from those:

But, my headers wont be the exact same design. The primaries will be longer, but they will connect to a regular style J-pipe. The best way to explain is its similar to the CT/XS design, just with longer primaries..

Jake - What you posted is for the 7th gen Accord. Those are considered pre cat deletes along with the J-pipe. Our car uses an actual header. Theyll most likely look more like this:

Anthracite - Since theres nothing physically different on the outside of the motors (3.2,3.5,so on) they'll fit. In essence, since they will fit the CL, theyll also fit the 6th gen Accord too.

Paul said he should have the first set made up in 2-3 weeks, then check for fitment, and then hes going to make my set. So if all goes well, this time next month Ill have new headers.

And for further comparison of the header length:

Why does the left header have more piping than the right? Seems a bit unnecessary to me, but it probably isn't.

so that when the both banks do merge together, the exhaust gases will have traveled the same distance (equal length)

it's a necessity given the fact that the rear bank (left) sits further back in the car (and even the stock manifolds do it to a point also, that is why the oil pan seems to have a corner cut off of it, so they can be more equal length)

edit: but then again every one does seem to love that Subaru rumble (it's do to having unequal length headers to the turbo)
