It may be his, but man ENJOY it...for the power they have and the way that they can rip up the pavement, they are amazingly civilized. And chick magnets to boot.

personally, id have to say that the regular vette coupe with the glass removable top has a higher pimp factor than the Z06...for my money, id rather have the removable top than the extra 50 HP and id save 10k plus to boot!...besides, you can ALWAYS mod to get that extra 50 hp in NO time, LS1's take very well to mods. outside the realm of auto enthusiasts most people, especially women havent the foggiest clue what a Z06 is. i do did the lowered stance and the side vents of the Z06...and i understand and respect WHY its only availavle in hard-top fashion, but that removeable top is pimp shit.

you're one in a million man........ z06 is a z06, a chick will be able to tell the difference when some dude in a EVO or STi or WRX etc., rolls up and you loose. I am not a fan of corvettes at all but z06 is beast.

Z06 was the car I was going to get before the CLS. I just couldn't get the obseen insurance rates out of my head. For me, the cheapest I could get was $7K/year. A few of the small insurance companies wouldn't even insure it cause it was a $50K car.
It's really well mannered all around car. It's just as good for a daily driver as it is on a track. Very streetable. Stomp on it, & it becomes a beast.

Z06Vette.com

That is imo the best webpage dedicated to the Z06

Have fun. My favorite gear in a Z06 is still 3rd it just continues to pull and pull and pull.

Not a big vette fan, I liked the first ones best. The newest 'Japanese' ones are better than the 70s,80s crap. I like a little more subtlety in my drive.
All the middle age (and over) mgrs at work are getting vettes, one is bright yellow (ugh). Not impressed, one also just got a used BMW Z3, gimme a break. These aged men with money but no car savvy. A 55 year old wannabe40 man in a Z3 is not pretty. Maybe I just hate the magrs, but at least get something with some class, like an 5,7 series or a MB. These are just " I wish I was 25 again" cars for showing off IMO. Have some some style and uniqueness at least.
Just like I hate the Viper, I don't need 'hit you over the head' looks to be impressed. The vette back end is scary.
Sorry to be neg, a young guy in one of these is better than what I see at work. I like more subtlety.

check
http://www.corvetteforum.com

lots of info on vettes.
also, wouldn't quite expect 20hp from a k&n, they already breath pretty well. but overall a phenomenal car, the handling is just impressive, even moreso than straight line. I've been in many cars that will stomp the z06 straight line, but only a few that can handle like it does and those cars are all far from stock.

good luck and drive safe

Joe
