My drivers side window makes this horrible squealing noise every time it goes up or down. Any idea why this would happen, or what I can do about it? It sounds like a cross between fingernails on a chalkboard and a dying pig.

My car just started doing the same thing. I wonder if its the warmer weather. Anyways, when I was cleaning my car I cleaned the rubber around the window with ArmorAll and it went away.

 

if the noise disappears after rolling the window up and down again a few times - it's the el-cheapo rubber/plastic thingy that guides the window - a dealer just 'oils' it but there is nothing they can do. Just make sure it is not a window motor...

 

its been doing this for over a week now...I'll try cleaning the rubber with some 303 and hopefully it will go away.

I don't think its the motor...sounds like its coming from the seal.

 

my passenger window does that too... it looks like its scratching the window glass. I just press outward on it a bit and hope it goes away, but it doesn't.

when I coat the front end with pam so I don't get bugs I'll spray some into the seals on my windows too

 

dat's right Beet! Don't do it, don't look into the bright light!!!!!!

 

this is still happening and its getting worse.


anybody have any new ideas before I all the dealer.

its a loud ass noise...and its really annoying

 

mine did that and actually scratched the tint

 

does this really work?
