Wilwood Brake Kit

Last I heard it was supposed to come out in December-January. Wondering if it will ever come out, or is it just a BS mod for our cars.

It wasn't BS. There was a lot of work done to try to get things to fit but in the end, it just wasn't feasible (my car was used for the test fitting). Too many changes would've been neccessary to get it to fit with stock wheels. The kit should fit with aftermarket (i.e. lower-offset) wheels though. I'll see if I can get more info.

SilverBullet is the one who had the original connections with the company so he might know more.

I have asked my contact like 10 times, and he is blowing me off on this it seems. I gave up.

I sent him a msg pointing out this thread before you posted. I didn't realize that you'd tried (unsuccessfully) to contact him previously. Hopefully we'll hear from him

I didn't know they were going to make a kit for stock wheels, I thought that they were going to make a kit for 18" only.

The fitting problem wasn't an issue with the wheel being 17" vs. 18"; it was with the offset. The rotor stuck out too far so there was no clearance for the caliper. They do have a monster rotor that would've required 18" wheels but the guys I dealt with were trying to come up with a reasonably priced kit that would fit stock wheels.

Bummer, i was hoping for a big brake kit that was close to Brembo performance and $700-800 cheaper. Any other ideas ?

Okay, I got a response from the brake guy and he said for members that are seriously interested in this kit to contact him directly. He said the more responses he gets, the easier it will be for him to get the kit into production.

He said momentum with the brake kit project stopped since they couldn't fit under stock wheels and they figured there'd be no interest in it because of that. If you have aftermarket wheels and are interested (or have stock wheels and are interested!), direct all enquiries and comments to "shing@sbbent.com". Just mention you're from the CL board and are interested in the brake kit. He's familiar with the situation.

(Titand19: thanks for posting the original question. it may get the ball rolling with this again! )
