Turbo 6spd Dyno Results!!!

Finally got to the dyno today.

Best pull of the day was 345 whp and 319.8 torque at the wheels with the exhaust unbolted.

The pic I have shows a run at 327.3 whp and 315.2 torque which was with the stock exhaust.

This was at 5.5psi of boost and 178 degrees coolant temp. I figure under actual conditions, the intake charge would drop another 25 degrees (moving vs. stationary)... so figure another 5%... so I am pretty sure 360whp is what I'd get at the track. This should translate to over 400hp at the crank. Not bad for 5.5psi

That's 5.5 psi I think 8psi and more fuel (which is the hard part) will top 400whp.

Excellent!

I'd love to see a brighter pic of the dyno...

Can't wait to see 1/4 results (slicks or not)...

Do you have plans for a beefed-up clutch, light flywheel?

No.... not anytime soon. I think the clutch/flywheel combo will put another 20whp easily, I should think.

If I hook up.. it will run 12's... that I have to wait and see!

BTW -- how loud was it with the exhaust removed (compared to exhaust system on)? Do you think you could get by with a very short glass pack and larger exhaust pipe?

It got pretty loud... the stock exhaust is pretty darn restrictive! I'll just unbolt the darn thing at the track... I am not going to buy an exhaust or make one.

Intercooling helps... and the design!

Comparing the S/C curve to my curve:

RPM S/C Turbo
3000 140 160
4000 180 242
5000 250 305
6000 275 345
6800 299 ~340

In the 1/4-mile assuming I shift at 6800 RPM and the revs drop to say... 5.5K, I have a greater than 50whp advantage throughout the rev-band while racing... imagine what that does! I would never drop less than 300whp while racing anyone. If you consider the increase in horsepower while in motion... its safe to say that whp is always greater than 325 from 5.5K upwards.

Never thought I'd see those numbers on a TL, much props to you Allmotor. I wonder what happenend to siggy and his electric turbo.... now the only thing that you guys are going to have to worry about is putting that power to the ground. hard to do with front wheel drive.

Nice numbers! BTW, those are considerably better than a stock Corvette.

One question though, what's with the dip at 2200rpm?

How has the drivability been?
How do you plan on hookin up? I say flare the fenders and bput some fat tires all around

I wonder if the new auto tranny could handle those kinds of numbers.

Way to go Ramanan, excellent numbers that have paid off well for all of your hard work. That is the true beauty of a turbo, un-bolt the exhaust and gain some serious power.

To those wondering why at roughly the same boost allmotor's power was greater than the Comptech SC system; it is simple. First off the power difference is right where it should be with all things considered, which I failed to do previously. It takes about 30 HP to turn the SC; the backpressure in the turbo will zap about 5 - 10 HP. That is about a 20 - 25 HP difference at the same boost level not including the intercooling affects which should amount to about 5 - 10 HP at these low levels of boost. Take all of that into consideration and allmotor's turbo system should make about 30 HP more than an SC system at the same 5.5 PSI boost levels.

Now add on more boost to both and the difference would be greater...

Super numbers...congradulations. Because of the size of the engine, do you think the engine can maintain that kind of power without breaking down?
