Water Pump Timing Belt Kit - CL Type S

Question Water Pump Timing Belt Kit - CL Type S

My guy looked over the timing belt and it seems to be new. But I'm worried if I should just go ahead and change that along with the water pump? Car has 133,000 miles on it. I looked at an AISIN Water Pump Timing Belt Mechanics Kit for around $280 which includes:

WATER PUMP with GASKET ....... AISIN**
TIMING BELT ...........................MITSUBOSHI / BANDO***
IDLER BEARING ........................KOYO**
TENSIONER BEARING .................KOYO**
1 CRANK SEAL .........................HONDA O.E.M.
2 CAM SEALS ..........................KP / STONE / THO
2 SERPENTINE BELTS ................BANDO
THERMOSTAT with SEAL............HONDA O.E.M.

buy the Honda OEM Kit for like $300 or less from the dude in the 3GL TL forum...

Question

With a good mechanic, how long should this take and whats a fair price?

a good mechanic can install this in about 1.5 to 2 hours time. fair price would be 2 hours labor.. (I have seen the Honda/Acura techs do this in 90 minutes flat on both a V6 and I4

How much time and what is required to be able to view the timing belt to determine if its in good shape? do you just have to remove passenger tire and then timing belt cover to get a glimpse of it? My CL type s has 119,000 on it and the owner before me said it was changed at 90,000 but no documents to prove it. I would hate to replace a new timing belt!

I might have everything done in my past post because I bought the car a few weeks ago and have no idea what was done to it. My tranny is getting rebuilt as I speak. Bought the car for $2000 and will have close to $$5500-$6300 when done if I go all out with the timing kit. Will have to keep the car for many years to come to make it worth while to me.

what dealer did he use? they should be able to tell you if he did or didn't

I don't think that's too bad a predicament. Hardcore disciples of finance may frown at dumping ~$3k into a depreciating asset, but pride and piece of mind from outright ownership are what keep me going. With the exception of the transmission, my CL has allowed me to piss away money at my own pace.

Fortunately, the car is pretty solid overall and fairly DIY friendly, so I have high hopes you'll make it through this.
