V1 hardwire problem, unit reboots with ignition

The V1 turns on when I turn the key to the "On" position, but then the unit reboots when I start the car up. Is that normal? I usually leave the key in the "On" position for a few seconds so that the gauges adjust, then I start the car up. I already searched and didn't find this discussed at all.

yes it is, good example is when you leave your headlights and unlock the car, when u start the car up the headlights flicker instead of staying on, showing the re-igintion of the battery or whatever u call it.

Where did you get power from? if you got it from an acc line (radio heat /ac ) it will do that, if you want to resolve that problem take down the driver sid dash under the steering wheel wheel and find the harness that goes to the key cylinder cut the loom off of it it and tap the power from your v1 hardwire kit to the 12awg black with a yellow tracer. Problem Solved!

Or, go to the backside of your fusebox (side facing your pedals). there are 4 male outputs. Two are for power regardless of whether the car is on or off, and two are for switched power (only when ignition is on). This is where I have my V1 and it doesn't do that.

can you hardwire it from the lamp on top, by the sunglas holder? You seem to get better range with it up higher.
