Turbo MR2 coming?
It will for sure in Europe at least:
Stunning looks and breathtaking performance - that's what's on offer from a new lightweight, turbocharged version of Toyota's mid-engined MR2.
Based on the Toyota Turbo concept revealed last year, the conversion promises to give the Mazda MX-5 rival the power it deserves. A 1.8-litre engine will deliver 180bhp through the rear wheels and the car is expected to hit 60mph in 6.5 seconds. The new model, which will only be available with a six-speed manual gearbox, was developed by Toyota's motorsport arm TTE (Toyota Team Europe), responsible for its F1 cars. The new MR2 goes on sale next year - and it won't be alone, as engineers are already working on a supercharged version of the Yaris to take on the Ford Fiesta ST150.

That's gotta be just a concept car, look at the huge holes in the two side doors! You can see the road through the other side of the car. I'm sure it impacts safety a bit, and what if it rains?

Interesting design. Wonder if it will makes its way into the states.
A turbo Miada would be pretty cool. They just need to bump up the design a little. Make it a bit more masculine.

Things will change though. The Z350 has stirred the pot.

I must say that car trips the alert on my weird-sh*t-o-meter.
There's just too many weird things on that car to list them all.
Nose, headlights, windscreen, forward canards, doors. There's more to point out.
I will say this though, I can't wait to see what the final production design looks like.
It seems to me that a turbo MR2 would make a pretty cool spec racer.
