Top 10 cars sold in Europe

It is always interesting to compare our country's auto market with that of Europe's. And yes, we are comparing a continent with a country but we all know that side of the story. I saw this table in a European mag about the top 10 cars sold in Europe in the first 3 months of 2002 and here it is:

Peugeot 206

We all know the Golf

And we know the Focus very well

The Fiat Punto

The Renault Clio

The Opel Astra (Opel is a GM subsidiary)

The Opel Corsa (Astra's little brother)

The Peugeot 307

We all know the 3 series

And the Ford Fiesta which will be replaced very soon (looks old here)

The pimpest non-turbo sport hatchback ever IMO was the 1987 Peugeot 205 GTI. That car was just plain bad ... looked SO much better than the trash they were peddling here in the US (including the bloated A2 VW GTI 16V).

you would too, if you knew what they had to pay for the price of gas. also most cars in europe run on diesel cause of expensive fuel prices. but if you can offord a car that can take alot of gas then your probablly got the money for gas so it probably wouldn't matter.

Amen to that.

Except for the Astra and the 3 series, it looks like a bumper car prarade.

The funny thing is that they thing of us having the bad taste and the totally low-quality-made cars, as well as "American cars cant handle" ideas.

Big time!

It is the only way to have such small cars hold/fit 4 adults in there.

They have little streets so little cars is the only way to get around. In spain we rented a Volvo s40, and that thing felt really huge and hella expensive on gas. It aint pretty when you gotta pay 3.50 a gallon. We are lucky sons of bitches when we only pay 1.40 a gallon for regular.

I've seen that little 206 convertible in person and pretty damn nice, I would deffinetly pimp it if I lived there.
