Can you tell us if this will give any hp or torque gain on a CL that is not supercharged, or is just for sound. Can we get some clips on a CL that is not supercharged so we can hear the sound tone with the exhaust cut out.

No one with a NON-Supercharged vehicle has one yet, so I can not give you anything to listen to..

As stated previously, there is NO HP gains for N/A cars... you will lose LOW end torque.

I did this mod for the Superchargered guys... losing alittle low end torque wil not hurt us since we are front wheel drive BEASTS trying to plant the power to the ground..

Try reading from page 1.. all these questions have been answered.

smitty, you mentioned that you will lose low-end torque in the first post, but that you will gain 10-15 hp in the top end. Does this work with N/A applications as well?

Also, I'm very interested in this, however I'm not 100% sure on how this works. When you put this on and the vent thing is closed, will I lose the low end as well? Or is this only when you open the vent thing? I can open this whenever I'd like as well, correct? Will this do any harm to the engine or what not? Sorry if I don't understand.

The dump was designed for the Supercharged/turbo applications since we are ramming air into the engine... the rule is, the quicker you ram it in the quicker you need to get it out.. so I designed the dump for us Supercharged guys... I am sure you N/A guys could see some top end gains if the dump is opened in the upper RPM range... it is more for fun than anything... it is very loudwhen open... when closed, it makes the CT mufflers sound even louder and meatier.

Correct... you can open whenever you wish.

no this will not damage your engine.. you will have no CAT, so you will get a smell from the exhaust. I am still testing it... I need to instal the SIM since the CEL is on.

oh ok cool.....that answered my questions, thanks..

so basically, no matter what, when I put the thing on, I'll be losing power, but I'll be able to adjust how mean it sounds, right? Right now I have the CT I/H, so should it help that sound a lil' better?

Lastly, the power loss that I will receive...is it significant? Or hardly noticeable??

Hey smitty, will this work on the first gen 3.0? I know honda uses some of the same cat applications for their cars, are the test pipes the same deal?
Now, to get a dump and pipe with the bung welded how much does that cost?
i.e. Everything that you have on your car operational right now?

Sorry to bombard you with more questions, but I need to know something.

With the plate shut, are there any leaks? Any unusual sounds because of leaks? Or does it sound normal with the plate shut?

I just had to deal with 2 separate exhaust leaks, and I don't want to deal with any more.

Thanks. And thanks again for putting this together!

I do not have one of those for testing.

Mine was free since I am the test subject, but DAVE HACKER said somewhere close to 300 due to the rising Stainless Steel costs.

Of course everything on my car is operational..

The missing cat makes the car louder without a doubt..
The DUMP opened while driving, will make you deaf in a matter of minutes... I was actually embarrassed the first time I opened it, because it sounds like I am a 30K auto owner that is too cheap to buy a muffler....

No leaks that I am aware of.

Remember the Cat converter is NOT there anymore. The car is much louder. I will try and assemble a Sound clip for you guys.

If the measurement from the A-pipe to the B-pipe is 17 inches then your in business.

In other words if that just confused you....measure your cat convertor where it bolts up to each end..

Are you shooting fireballs yet?

A lot of my friends are running test pipes, and they all shoot out flames. It's so sweet to see blue flames light up the back of the their cars at night.

W/ the plate open, I would assume that you could light up the underside of your car with flames at night. That'd be awesome.

Smitty, I ended up replacing my stock o2 sensor because it didn't like being wraped in foil and tied up to the frame while my wideband was installed. If you are interested, you can have the old one, and use the molex connector and wiring to splice in your o2 sim, making it a PnP set-up, without having to hack into any of your stock wiring. PM, e-mail, or post up, a ship to addy and I'll "get er done"!

Well I had some time on my hands today and decided to wire the SIM up..

Works like a charm... no CEL is present... before without the SIM, the CEL was on in under 5 minutes of running the car... Put about 60 miles on the car and everything seemed perfect..

Now, all that is left to do is get you guys some sound clips...

but I can just tell you now... it is VERY LOUD.... i have yet to open the dump and crank out all the gears in my car.... it really makes the Comptech mufflers come alive when it is closed...

I found myself in the passing lane, next to the jersey barrier, just Smashing the gas pedal to the floor and listening to the car just RIP up..... I can not even hear the Supercharger with dump closed...

Brad:.. the O2 you sent me is for the front O2 sensor, I needed the O2 for the Cat...... but thanks anyways..

Wiring: there are 4 wires on the O2 sensor... 2 black. 1 green 1 white...
Cut the Green... tape up both ends...
Cut the white and take the green wire from the sim and attach it to the PLUG side.
Tape up the other end of the white wire.
Find power to the red wire on the SIM.
Find a ground to the black wire on the SIM.

Your all done.. that simple.

man it would be so kick ass to go do a 1/4 mile with the dump pipe completely open!

wouldn't we fail emissions if we install this though? sorry if it was asked before, im too lazy to do a search

How many times must a question get answered?? In the amount of time it took you to type both messages a search would have given you the answer. Be an adult and use the resources provided and keep that lame smiley to your self.

And to further this, if you have to ask and don't understand what this is you would most likely need someone to install it. Most shops won't remove the catalytic converter as it is illegal. And then to pass an emission test you would have to re-install the cat.

Lastly, you do not even have the blower so the mod is basically worthless to you.

How is that for a response.

you wouldnt see any gains lets say if you had the dump pipe set up so that as your rpms raise your plate opens so when your at the top of the rpm band you would basicaly have a free flowing exhaust in turn giving you a higher top end speed??? i know that for the civic dc sprots makes a set a race only headers that end where the cat is and you dont put anything on after that.. im not saying that our engines are the same but dosent it bassicaly defeat the perpous of exhaust system?? im not trying to say your wrong because you know well more than i do about these things i just thought that the dump would help out in the top end with the plate wide open when it reaches high rpms.
p.s sorry i cant spell
