^ No, that's insane. My best 1/8th MPH is 85 and that was in (-) DA. Idk what the DA was when you went, but your car moves bro. Do you know what it weighs with and without you?

It was my fastest mph yet.
my best et's were only 8.5 that day with consistint mid 2.2 60's.
The cold weather killed my 60ft's. .1 off 60ft = .2 or just about off my et.
warm weather I was running 2.0 60's all day with the quickest 1.99.
On a nice day I will be seeing some quick et's.

I don't know anything about the DA. How do I know that ?

I don't have any idea of the weight yet but, I will get it weighed before I'm done.
I have already removed 10lbs since the last time I went and plan on getting into the srs and rear amp wiring tomorrow.
I also am going after a steering wheel next to lose some more weight.
Thinking of the 320mm momo mod 88. I almost bought it earlier but, then I started reading and people were saying suede steering wheels wont last long before they look like crap so now I'm not sure if I should get it.
It weighs 2.6lbs and I just want it.

Search DA Calculator in google and it should bring you to Dragtimes.com. Enter in the date/time/track you ran, just like it says. Then it tells you what DA (density altitude) the conditions were, and once you enter your ET/trap, it 'corrects' for sea level conditions. If the DA is positive, your motor is making less power than it would at sea level, and if it's negative, you are making more power. When I trapped 106.x, I was making 106% of my power at sea level, putting me right around 290whp that night.

Not sure what it may be but that black box with the twisted wires is definitely an aftermarket peice.

Also, I have a question (or rather a suggestion): why not just devote an entire day to do all this "weight reduction" instead of removing one thing at a time? Just saying, it would be better to drop 100lbs at once and actually FEEL the difference rather than a few pounds here and there.

The black box is from the rear defrost and that by it self weighs 1lb.
I don't drive the car everyday maybe once or twice a week and even then it may only be for a hour or so.
I don't have a full day to put into ever.
But I have put almost 5 years into it.

Usally when I do drive the car their are weight drops.
Before my car see's the track again I'm thinking I can have it down another 40lbs.
I think im about 29lbs lighter than last time now.

I ran 8.32.
Then after that I dropped a bunc . seen no et gains because the weather was 41 degrees so I had no traction.but I did gain +4mph so that weight drop did help.
And with another 40lbs loss over that I should be running 8.1's .

cant run the track this week end though because their have big races.

Richard your a mad man lol. You might as well go to the next level since your already going this far. Remove the heating and a/c components, maybe figure out something to remove the power steering, complete sunroof assembly, start cutting metal out, drag wheels, etc. You have a race car now lol.

Been having thoughts of removing the sunroof and making some caron fiber roof overlay for the whole center section.
Who knows if I'll do it. Just having thoughts.

CF mirrors might be next if theirs weight loss to be had.
It's a bit cheaper than pipe dreaming about a roof I have no idea how to make.

Steering wheel stuff is out.
Holding this stuff while standing on a digi scale show 8.8lbs differnce in my weight. I don't know how acurate it is
And I finnally got the deadener off the sides of the tunnel for a 2lb loss.
Now I only got one piece left under the ecu then I will start cleaning the inner body.

Removed the sunroof glass today to take weight, measurements, and get a look at what I can do here with either just glass or whole roof assembly delete.
Just the glass piece weighs 13lbs and I should be able to cut 10lbs if I just went after this piece.
We'll see what I do.
Trying to keep it streetable but, Last night the wife said: "I don't care what you do to the car I don't get to drive it anymore anyway".
Might end up a full race car

Got a painter coming by in a couple hours to take a look.
I might permently seal the sunroof hole and black out the roof so it looks nice.
Then if and when I decide to put the interior back in get the head liner done so it looks like the sunroof never existed.
Probably the best way and not make the car look like crap.

Well the painter said he don't think he can do what I want.
He said their is too much curves to the roof for him to make it look nice. he told me to go to a fabricator to get the pannel made then he could do the body work and get it painted.
Not sure if I want to pay 2 differnt people to complete the job. Sun roof might stay for awhile I don't want it to look like crap.

Took the car for a ride today, first time since the steering wheel and I'm going to need a spacer between the hub and the wheel. My fingers hit the light and directional switches while turning.
The car is getting fast.
I did remove the residue from the deadener on the drivers side today and that yellow glue sucked to remove.
Another big race is happening at my track this sunday so no track time. They started the test n tune on thursdays nights too. But,it's been too cold latley for that.

I think I'm going to start taking the motor apart tomorrow.

Well today I decided to re install my web cams To see if they will work now.
After 4 hours and the rear cam pulley losing it's position twice when trying to get the T belt tight I decided to give it a rest till tomorrow.

Either way they are back in and will be starting it up tomorrow.
EVERYONE, cross your fingers for me I can get some lumpy sound and some more ponys.

Last time I tryied them I only had 150 psi in the cylinders and now that the engine is broken in it has a solid 210 psi and I'm thinking it's enough. If it's not the next step will be to bump compression or sell the cams to someone with worthy compression.

I left the plugs in.
I will loosen them tomorrow.
I had the belt on but, I keep trying to get it tighter and both times it just popped out of place. No biggie,I was just done messing with it today.I was grilling and doing the timing belt at the same time so I really wasn't paying attention.

I did have the tls cams installed but ,now they are sitting in boxes

Pic of cams out.
Only pics I took so far.

The Type S cams are almost identical to the Base TL with the exception that they are hollow. Yungone has the specs on the cams compared to the Base TL, and there are minimal (and I mean minimal) differences in lift. Of course, I don't think anyone knows what the duration differences are though.

Nice progress.

For the moonroof glass I would just make a fiberglass or cf panel using glass as a mold. It would be a pain to bend a metal panel to fit the curve of the roof, then weld it without warping. Plus body work would be expensive.

Wonder if you could remove the structure but somehow still retain the glass.

Get some countersunk black bolts for the steering wheel, will look a lot better.

What hub are you running? The normal size or the short hub. I have the short hub plus a quick release and mine is fine. It actually sticks out slightly more than before.

Thats what I was thinking too because the glass has it's own frame so that part would or should be easy to mount some how but then what about water leaking in.
I'm sure the oem seal would not hold it all out or their would not be drain tubes.
I should look into that option more then no panel would have to be made and it would still look good from the outside if sealents did not have to be used.

The drain tubes are there incase water gets in when the moonroof is open. The tray collects it and it goes down the drain tube and out the fender.

The oem seal might be good enough, how would you mount the glass tho? Are there already bolt holes to use?

Somewhat good news.

Cams installed and the car insistently started.
But I was getting pretty loud valve noise from the rear head so I did not let it run.
Done with it today.
Tomorrow I'll start with it again.,who I'm I kidding I will get back to the valve adjustment probably later today.
I think I adjusted the valves with the timing marks to set the timing and not by the marks for adjusting the valves since I did not have the cam pulley covers on.
Whoopsie,
Lets hope I did not cause damage to the cam lobes.
I only ran it for 5-10 seconds.

It started though and seamed like it was running fine besides the valve issues.

Cams are running.

Went over valves and all were fine but #3 intake side.
Car was running on 5 Cylinders.
Now it sounds sick, and very powerful.
This thing is going to need a boat load of fuel. It was idling at 10.8 afr. I only let it idle for a minute and did not turn up the fuel because I did not have the alt belt on yet.

I never turned down the #3 intake adjusters.
After I get the belt on I will mess with the fuel and get up some vids.

It sounds like a monster now.
