Hmmm ,what up with the grill and tips....
They might be on there because I like them. That doesnt take a genius to figure out ,does it ?
Anyway,at one point I was going to do a old school look with flakes and all gold.
Only pieces I needed to do at the time was handles, window trim and wipers but, the gold spoke rims I bought rode like trash so I removed some of the gold but left the grill and tips.
The gold gives it more flash than plain silver.
Should I put back in my silver grill and change up my exhaust because your ready for a change or should I wait till I'm done with the look ?
Maybe I should just change it now for you.

Not angry by no means.
Request Denied, lol
When I did try the cams I was trying to get it to run with the base ecu and they car was never fired as you know so compression might've been I little low since the rings were not seated.
Now I have the type s ecu and I'm sure the rings are seated.
So my compression is beter now I think.
I have not did any compression test since the first one's and getting adverage of 160 across all cold and engine never fired.
If numbers have went up considerablly then maybe it would start.
I have been thinking about them lately since I will need more power soon.
But, I've been looking into swaintech to get headers and mani fully coated. I think If I'm to peel off ,my next mod will be the coatings.
I find that weird you say your does not have much lope.
Mine there was about 1 sec between the lope sound when it was trying to run.
I never heard a v6 sound like that beside one cammed v6 long tube header mustang sounded before.
Since it was attempting to run.with the type s ecu and if my compression did go up it might actually run.
well see soon as I run out of free mods from the weight reduction.
Hey since you're being picked on today, id like to request that you give me a call. Oh thats right, you dont do phone calls. Lol, sorry i had to man. It's all good! Hope you get those cams idling soon. I wonder if it truly has to do with compression requirements or if it was an ecu limitation. Mine are larger than that, but on a 13.5:1 motor and have very little lope compared to any cammed domestic v8.

Hmmm, now youve got me intrigued. Im sure its in the perception of the owner but would you mind taking some photos of the primary and it vtec cam lobes as well as the base circle on your cams? Id like to do a visual comparison as my cams are also ground off of j35a8 TL-S cams. Ive already got some pretty detailed close-up pics on my build thread. Think you could do this?

What was your 60'? How do you not get slips? You're the only person I know that has no slips....you have to pass the booth where they hand out slips on the way back to the line...In order to understand how your car is performing, you have to look at the whole slip, not just the end ET/MPH.

At the track I go to you enter it from the left side and parking ,pits and consessions is all on the same side. When I'm done with my run I turn back to the left again.
The booth is on the right side but, cars line up from the left so I never felt the need to turn to the right to go by the booth.
Do I tell them first I want some slips or do I just run and then go to the booth every time.
The way I do it I will get to run like 6 or 7 runs bascically back to back. And if I have to go to the booth and go around everyone to get back in line everytime it would be kinda of shitty.
I will get some next time.
I'm trying to load a couple vids of my runs but they are like 100mb each and they are loading so slow.

My turkey day whoa.
Rented a compression tester last night and figured while other people being busy I could sneak out and mess with the car.
Pulled plugs, fuel relay and started with the first cylinder and pressure seen 210psi and blaaaawo "the line burst".
Cheap POS , Now I probablly own it.
Even at 210 that is considerably higher before the engine was not run and with the regrind cams 160psi. The regrind cams will make lower cylinder compression but if my psi is above 210 now I will definitly give it one more try.
I need to get another compression tester before fully decieding wether the regrind cams will be going in.
I am going to make another attempt at installing my cams

Got another gauge and although I'm happy with the cold readings of 210psi on all cylinders and one 209,
I don't think It would be worth my time trying to reinstall the cams as their is possibly still is not enough compression for them.
I will check warm compression later but I really don't think the compression will go up much more.
If I was seeing atleast 230 across all I would be re-installing them now.
But I'm not sure I want to waste a day for the same no start as before. That would suck.

Got some slips.
I was running with my sunroof open. I did not even think about it till I was leaving the track and seen it open.
I ran about 3-3.25mph faster. But I could not get a faster et than before.
I really wish I did not have to baby it out of the hole. I would actually have a really nice et.
Anyway....

That's more like it! 8.66 is a great 1/8th man. And 85mph is showing you are making some great power. For instance, my best 1/8th ET was on my 13.57 pass (missed 4th) was a 8.76. You have a 13.3x pass @106-107 with your current setup, which is awesome. Btw, your 60's are pretty good and consistent at 2.1x, I wouldn't worry much about babying it off the line if you are consistently pulling those 60 fts. You need to get to a 1/4 mile track. And install those cams!!!

I might be thinking of parting with mine.
I would like to get some light weight race wheel and tire setup

What do you think would be better to get a quicker et for me ? slick/drag radial or lighter wheels ?
#1024

For a better ET? Slicks for sure. I'd get smaller/lighter wheels and slicks for the best ET. With a 1.8 60' on slicks I wouldn't be surprised to see you near 8.1-8.2. Apparently the FD RX7 wheels are 16x8 and weigh like 13.x lbs. Great drag setup unless you have a BBK and can't fit 16s.

Anything faster than 8.25 would be great since that would put me in the 12's in the 1/4.
I took a look at the rx7 wheels and I seen someone selling some saying they were 16lbs.
Are you sure they are 13lbs ?
I was looking at the 16x7 black motegi mr 125 that are 15.2lbs and they are only 150 each on tire rack.
My wheels on the car now are just over 20lbs. That's 5lbs less per wheel.
Now I need to do some more searching for atleast 245 50 16's as far as weight goes.
My front tires now weigh 25lbs.
What are some super sticky 16" tires that are lighter than the 25lb 18's I have now?

Resse's 1/8 8.668 @ 85.09 1/4 13.254
Mine 1/8 8.665 @ 85.308 1/4 ? I bet 13.2 flat
I even had one run that was 85.4xx mph
maybe I could get into 13.1 if I shut my sunroof
Me and resse would have some fun races if we raced.

Im not trying to rain on anyones parade, but the gearing between the 6MT and the 5AT is vastly different. If you want to see what you'd run in the 1/4, go run the 1/4.

Maybe stock.
If I can out run a 6spd in the 1/8. I can definitly out run the same one in the 1/4.
Not to rain on your parade.
Not to metion I won't have to shift a extra gear the 6spd will have to in the 1/4 and I will never have to claim ( I missed a shift ).
Where are your slips again ?

For fucks sake, seems as though I hurt your feelings.
I can do exactly what your doing and say that I'll run 13.2s in the quarter. Just like Fries said he'd run low 12s at sea level.
Dont race on your theoretical race track. Do it. Id love to see what you and your CL can do in the quarter, but stating that "it runs x.xx in the 1/8 means itll run xx.xx in the 1/4" doesnt mean shit to anyone.

And by the way you speak and all the undercover secrective mods you have "your the man". You come to charlotte. Bring it and run it.
I have a extra axle for you new in the box, because far as I know your performance ends in excuses with no real results.
I would love to lose just as much as I would to win.
Better start the weight reduction, just saying.

Lol. He's right Rich. You can't just assume you would beat Reese in the 1/4. And come on.....your 1/8th was .003 better. Really? I've been known to speculate as well, but when it comes time, I back it up with track results. You have te 1/8, you just need te 1/4. I think all 3 of us would have a good run, although I do think I'd end up last

I don't even think I would have a chance against reese in my car. Me and civic don't have slips/ drag races to prove ourselves. We don't feel the need to.
Civics mods aren't that secret. Most of us know what they are. Long tube headers, dual tb IM, tuning, etc. All the goodies I still want. I would assume civic has the highest hp/tq N/A j32a2 in a cl body.
I personally am not that into drag racing. Taking corners is what I like.
Nonetheless, your times are pretty impressive and nice to see your times improve.

Civic has the 3.6L
In regards to the RX7 wheels, I was told there were 2 versions of them. They looked identical but one was like 13.8lbs vs 15.1lbs for the others. The lighter version was made with less metal in the spokes from what I read. I'd be looking at a 10-12lb loss per wheel, not to mention the smaller diameter, shorter gearing advantage as well.
Did you notice a difference with the TL-s cams, Rich? I'm curious. Although they are way overpriced at this point.

I never said civic's was 3.2 liters. I said j32a2 because that is the block he is using I think. I could have been more specific but I thought everyone already knew civic was a 3.6.
Not sure who has the highest hp N/A 3.2 cl. There is a good chance that person dsnt even post on here. P2r posted the best numbers but that was an accord. After him I would say Reese, but again that was a tl and accord.
I would like to do more work to my engine, just don't really see the point unless I figure out engine management first. Was hoping someone else would tackle that and post results, but might be waiting for nothing.

My goal would to be the fastest then start reinstalling the interior while still being the fastest.
Stay tuned faster times will come.
I'm sure if I was the fastest some people would start picking things apart why I'm the fastest.
You have a striped interior,no ac,slicks etc.
But, whatever It's a personsal change.
Did the look good, sound good, now it's time to go faster.

And I've been saying it for a very long time, even back when you were running the 3.2l on spray, if you want to run my CL so bad, you could make the trip up to one of the many 1/4 mile tracks near me. Shit, when I was in Charlotte last October for Cars and Coffee, I was still willing to run you, even with the diff bearing issue I had. You didn't want to go
I never thought Id see the day where an auto CL-P would run mid-8s in the 1/8th.

Lets be honest now civic, You were NOT wanting to mess around because of your bad diff bearings.
You actually said said your diff bearings were bad and you had a long ride back.
Trying to be nice without actually calling you a liar.
Whoops I think I might've.
No hard feelings man just bring it one time when your down.
20lbs out of the car today.
rest of center console
kenwood and rca's
passenger air bag
and some miscellaneous
I think I got about another 25lbs I can get out sensibly before I hit the track again.
