I chop the battery hold down when I had the piece of crap brallie battery.
Now I dont have one for the new battery I bought.

Car is finished.
I had the tps set then I crimped on the conectors.
started the car and had cel for low tps voltage.
went for a ride and the car was in limp mode shifting at 3500 rpm and cutting fuel at 5500 rpm weird.

I came home to try to check voltage and could not get anything from the tps.
I then re wired the oem tps and got signal.
Then I re wired the q45 tps and got clean sweeping signal again and restarted with no cel.

from having wires twisted together to crimping either I mixxed one up or something.

Either way going for another ride now to see if all is good.

Car is all good now.
Even got a rolling run with a g8 gt.
And as I was driving by him and his front bumper just past my passenger window and I know he got on it because I heard his car over mine I seen his bumper come into veiw from my passenger window And I stood on the gas pedal he managed to get to my front fender and took him from about a 30 roll to about 80 and had about 1 car on him and their was no way he had a win comming back.
After taking a look at the spec's he had 355 hp and my car just left him.
When he came up to my window I thought he was going to go by me but,It just didn't happen.

Agree with that.
The solder i have is junk i think, it's hard to get it to stick good.
what's a good wire to use with copper wire ?

Still can't get the other rpm window switch a got for the manifold to shut off a a lower rpm either.
It will work using a shut off point higher than the on point but they will not shut off at a lower point.

I need to call msd to give me a solution before buying a 3rd piece.

whoever got the manifold secondary's to open and shut corectly let me know how.

You have to tin the wire first so it the solder flows properly.

Sounds like it's begging to breathe. Did you upgrade the exhaust? I can't remember. Good stuff though

I did the whole exhaust but I am in need of changing out the Y in the rear.
Definitly bottle necking there.

Passenger seat, rear seat and box out. about 100lbs lighter today.
With all the weight I've taken out off my car today and over time I'm probally right on par with stock weight or a touch lighter since I have got all my sound deadener still in there.
I was going to strip everything out but, I want a close to actual time I should be running so It will be compareable to others.
Going to the track at 1.

9.0 was my best of the day at 82 mph.
I need more traction.
I had to pedal it out of the hole or it was just spinning.
The car has more in it I just couldn't use it.

Not bad at all, with that trap you could probably see a 8.8 or so with a decent launch.

My best launch had crazy wheel hop.

If I could get it to hook I would been fine with the numbers it runs.

Sometime durring every run I was spinning.
I guess this is my base run,now I need to make it go faster.

Did you ever get the engine dampeners or reinforced motor mounts? I hadn't had wheel hop at the track since those things were put on

I did not get the dampers, And I only have new regular motor/trans mounts.

ever since I installed the coilovers I have no wheel hop on the street so it was a surprise when the tires were banging.

I don't have a working IMRC and I was running my street 40 psi in the front tires.
Next time I will atleast lower the air pressure to see if it will hook a little better.

Also thinking of getting a drag wheel and tire setup to go play with.

Yes, please lower that tire pressure lol. I started at 30 for mine and think I got as low as 25. Just make sure you have firm grip on the steering wheel as the speed climbs.

No major updates.
I installed my rear eibachs and stock shocks for a softer ride.
I installed my 4 12's and one amp to have some thump for a little while.
I cut a port in the rear deck and I cut the dash for my 3rd tv.I had to cut threw 2 layers and was nervous the whole time. I possibly might have to use a heat gun to shape the heat duct a little.
After a nice fit I got to think of something to make like a beauty ring to make it look perfect.

It's in.

I have to have someone professionally make some trim for it unless someone has any idea how I could trim it.
Last pic I dont think the tv is positioned where I have it now but,you get a idea of what I'm trying to do here.

Finally got a p2r manifold gasket for the 3.7.
I had them before when it was a 3.2 but not yet on this one.
I also deceided since I was try to keep the 2 stage butterflys open I would just cut the shaft and take the plates out completely.
Between both of these things the car seams like it has gained more power.

I was looking for a way to do that. What did you use? I was thinking about making some kind of molding similar to what the GTO/G8 guys have.

Open all the time.

They were open.
There is considerable loss of power off the line with them open but it helps with not spinning tires I guess.
With it closed it feels choked above 4.5k.
It's weird that with them completly out it feels like it has more low end.
Added power either came from adding more volume by removing the pieces or most likely the gasket.

I was not to sure about the butterfly bridge so I left it.
No vac leaks removing it ?
If no, next time i'm in the manifold I will knock down the center piece and cut into the solid piece.

Just got some hub rings for my wheels today finally to fit my wheels properly.
Maybe I can get rid of the odd ride under 20mph that I've had since I had the wheels.
I noticed the other day my wheels are not centered when I would install them.
I tryied centering them by eye and it helped alot.

I have no vac leaks with the bridge removed. The only real loss in torque would be under 2500 rpm. So 2500 and up should feel improved.

Going to the track again tomorrow to see if I can get a faster et.
My car is roughly 180lbs lighter than last time I ran a best 9.0 . Ive just dropped the wait in the last couple days And today I went down from a 225 40 18 to a 215 40 18.
I know I'm going to go threw hell trying not to spin because I was out earlier leaving a light and ripping from the end of 1st into 2nd the car was spinning and pulling actually had me holding on and I had to let off before 3rd because It was pulling towards the side of the road while I was spinning up to 60+mph just a guess.

If I do get a considerable gain in et (like -.2-.3) I might get a little more serious and get my sound deader out and put a little squirt back on.

Any guesses on what it will run tomorrow ?

Why haven't I ever seen this thread? Your car is nice rich! BUT, take out the stereo equipment man....come on. Oh, and with a motor with that much attention and detail into it, why on earth would you reuse an ugly power steering pump? Atleast bead blast and have it powder coated! And I do mean that constructively.

Were the polished upper intake side covers and valve covers clear anodized? Those look great man. I myself have polished damn near everything I could but I'm admittedly concerned about how long they will hold their luster before needing to be repolished. I've heard that other than clear anodizing, there's not really much that could be done to ensure their shine.

Anyhow, love the ride...and I haven't even seen the body yet. Lol.

9.3 was the best et today.
I need some fatty tires. The car just spins the tires with no signs of hooking off the line.
and my trap speed also dropped to like 76mph,weird,because the car is faster for sure. Blame is going to no traction.

Don't know why you have not seen the thread.
system is out.
ya,I know, that was the only crappy looking piece I didn't really clean up. I appeciate you pointing that out.

The plenums and the manifold cover were only polished.
They stay with a good shine for a while. I only polish them every couple month and they looks fine.

short video just before 3rd.

76mph and you trapped 82 before in the 1/8th? That's a huge loss. How were the conditions each time? Comparable? If you ran a 9.0 @82 last time and a 9.3 @76 this time, that leads me to believe you had better traction 'this time.'

Stock 6 speeds go faster than 76 in the 1/8th....I expected more from the J37, regardless of transmission. I'd expect a full bolt on (I/Full exhaust/manifold/TB) J37 5AT to trap at least 83-84 in the 1/8th and 105-106 in the 1/4. I'd expect 85-86 for the 6MT and 107-108 in the 1/4.
