^maybe almost dead on new but once you lighten your crank,I would have it balanced.
I have been considering lighten and balancing all parts.
I was watching all kinds of video's last night and chasing down info. Seriously considering getting the crank and rods lightened and then all balanced.
Just need the parts in hand first.

With all your research have you found anyone that makes forged aluminium rods for your app?

I have not seen any premade that you can just buy,I think I saw j32 or j35 rods before.
High dollar forged parts is not a reality for me.
But I do want to make what I have a little lighter and more reliable. Reliability coming from the balancing.
Lighten parts to whoop ass.
I need to see all what services they offer before talking to much ying yang.

Don't know how you feel about regrinding cams, but I work right down the street from Comp Cams and can walk in and get any cam cut to any specs. They do NOT weld on them at all. They also do ZEX on site. If you need anything from them let me know as I get a discount with them. In fact I'm heading over there in a few min to speak to a guy about some regrinds for another engine. Times like this I wish my engine was not a DOHC V6. SOHC sound nice and cheap right now!!! So if you pick a cam and want to change a parameter on it let me know. Be glad to walk them in and get them done for you.

Whats up with RDX owners?

They dont harden the cams properly, they wont last very long.

He is right! I just got back from Comp Cams and they said they would not do it on OEM cams because the heat treatment for hardining is paper thin. he said that once they re grind them they get soft and will not last long at all.
I would not do it based on thier expertise on the subject.
I'm bumbed out about it, but it is what it is!
Sorry to get your hopes up! If you need anything for your Zex kit let me know.

I was talking about a different engine for myself.

Check out my New 3.7 parts....
Delivery issues.
Crank,hi ya doing
Rings too, how ya doing
Ahh, not enough damage yet, then how about a piston or a couple or rods.
They told me not to remove from the wrapers so..
Sending stuff back for replacements as soon as they send me a return label.

Awesome..., i would build that sucker right away
but really wow , yeah i would want all those parts replaced, what says even the other pistons and such have not be "warped" from being dropped or whatever happened to the boxes
we have sent brake rotors back before cause the delivery driver dropped the rotor on the ground
and i would maybe say get a slight refund from them, but it is not the dealer's fault though, it whoever delivered it, so maybe at least get a refund from them if possible

I ordered some parts from delray Acura. It took 1.5 weeks to arrive after I ordered, and one of the parts arrived already opened and bent in half. Now they want me to mail it back and pay for return shipping, and they won't special order a new one till one I mail in arrives. So I should have it 1 month or so after ordering and paying extra. What a joke.

Parts are back today looking right this time.
Is their any other people that make bearings that are any better than the honda bearings?
Read codes and ready to make another order..
And WTF is the sticky coating on the top of these pistons made of ?

i remember hearing iirc ACL bearings being better then honda bearings
http://aclraceseries.com/engine-application.htm
but no such bearings for the J-series that i know of, so honda it is....
also make sure to plasti-gage those bearings before you just get the bearings, slap them in and call it good (clearances more then likely changed, especially with a new crank, and if you have had the block line-bored)
so you may have to make 2 orders of bearings, first one would be like the mid-ranged sized bearings (3 iirc), then plasti-gage all of them, then do your second bearing order with now knowing your current clearances, and what is desired, being able to order either larger or smaller bearings as needed
also as far as the sticky stuff, pictures of it would help, but only thing i can currently think of would be like a anti-corrosive coating, like what they put on brake rotors

No big update of bad ass parts but,
I did just order every bearing, seal, gasket, thrusts crank and cams, crank key, belt pully and guide.
90mm cometic head gaskets are on the way too.
Next move will be to fill the heads and I'm definitly open for suggestions with cams, springs, valves, retainers.
It probably won't be another month till I can crack the wallet again.
Any new head options out there ?

Yea, but you need to make shims, just as you would the 3.7l crank. In speaking to Paul about it, he said the ends dont justify the means.

A little bad luck got me a little PO'd today.
Had hail 3-4 nights ago I jumped in my car and parked under some trees. After the dime size hail.I pulled my car back to the drive way and about a hour later a 2nd hit and my car took it for about 2 minutes.I looked at the car that night and I could not see anything. So my car was parked the furthest down the driveway and I have not walked past it since.
Today I drove the car and seen dents on the hood and was like wtf.
Looked over the car and sure enough about 5-6 dents on the hood maybe a dozen on the roof and another handful on the trunk.
Got to go clean the car and take a beter look it's dirty and covered with pollen.
My insurance company must love fixxing my paint.
Another claim being processed. and again....

I don't have any idea what they charge.
They did not even do the work.
P2R was just a middle man.
They costed me a little lump.
I called the people that did the work (same people that do bisi's re grinds)with the #'s scribed on them and they said they could not tell me the exact spec's of them even when I pretended to be the original buyer. But I did confirm With the guys name that they are 07 tls that they re ground. They said it was spec's that P2R gave to them and they could not give them to anyone.
I have sent a message to P2R to see if I can get some info.

No body could tell me anything so I hope these are definitly a more performance grind than the cls cams.
Cam spacers are currently getting made at my local machine shop.
Cls cams also sold,so I might be ordering springs and retainers any day.
Starting to come together.
If I can get this dam zex kit gone I will have no out of pocket on them.
I just need to figure out oilling system, what engine management, fuel set up to go with.

So today I talked with someone that said I should take measurements of my valves now.Reassemble heads with the new cams and see how much of a differance I will need on the valve tips length to make up for the smaller base circle cam to get the tips to sit correctly.
Then order custom valves.
Ordering custom valves first then fitting would most likely lead to using valve tip spacers. And if it can be corrected with out using spacers then they would not be a issue with them breaking and coming out or poping the locks/keepers off either.
Sounds good to me.
Glad to take in knowledge before just slapping stuff together.

No plans on management yet.
I will have from now till this winter to figure what I'm going to go with.
All I know now is I want to be able to rev higher than a type s ecu will and hope I can find a solution to advancing the timing and being a user friendly set up would be nice too.
so after it's tuned I don't have to pay out the ass to to make little changes here and their.
