Speakers

For you guys that changed your stero around, which system and setup did you use? I am debating changing mine around and was wondering what the best systems were out there for the car. Thanks.

Re: Speakers

Check the Sig. It just depends on what kinda sound system you want. If your a True Audiophile like astroboy with tons of $$ or something more Moderate like myself. I'd like to cap mine off with a Infinity Basslink, but I've got couple other "house" projects I have to attend to first.

That's a lOAD Of Crap

Why don' t you just say: THIS IS MY PREFERENCE ... Be done with it. Truth be KNOWN. Just about any Aftermarket Speaker you get is going to sound better than the BOSE. If you have a preference say it. I don't. I would Imagine that there are SCORES of speakers and Subs that sound VERY good. To say THIS or THAT is the way to go just won't cut it.

Listen to a few things: trust your own ears. They won't let you down.

Sorry: I'm in a MOOD !

I have some Image Dynamics Chameleon components in my vehicle. Depending on what you want to spend check out Focals products as well.

Re: Speakers

Check my sig. I put what I think is the best system in that you can buy except for the fact that I am currently still using the factory deck.

Im not quite sure what I want to spend. I would love for it to sound something like my dads car who has an all Alpine system that is unbelievable. Its the best radio that Ive ever seen in a car. I had a '96 328IS and had a pretty good system in that, but im not looking for bass anymore like i did then. I mainly want it to just sound good but when I want it to hit, it will. (BMW had 4 Alpine 5 1/4 components w/ 4 1" tweeters, 2 4" Alpine co-axle's on the back shelf and a 12" JL 12W3 with Kicker 1302 AMP======ONE HELLUVA SYSTEM)

Again I am just looking for sound, could give a shit about TV's and all. Im in college, my shit would be jacked in 2 secs.

I like kicker alot too, but I am just not looking for a sub anymore. The sub made my BMW SOOO MUCH slower that it was ridiculous. As soon as I unhooked it, it would fly. I took it to the track and there was a difference, dont remember how much, but enough to notice.

OKAY ....I love this question! There is no right or wrong answer...if you like your car to rattle and mothers to scream when they hear you coming than do up the subs....if you want people to say that sounds nice and looks good do up the cosmetics...if you want people to say wow! that is crisp and clear than DO IT RIGHT! i personally have a philosophy that states that you stick with a brand for as much equip. as possible. Money is a key factor. i can go on for ever...My Civic EX has 2 10" Orion in bandpass with rear deck firing ports, kick panels on the floor with Orion mids and tweets as well as the door speakers replaced with orion mids and tweets. Orion 6X9 compliment the rear deck. Kenwood head unit and equilizer, orion 500X2 and orion 500.4X2 amps with a second dry cell battery and an orion isolator. The music sounds great and is loud, it was my first lick at a real system. Now I wam working on the CLS and have my civic as back-up. i have listen to many speakers and besides MB-Quart which are WAY to CRISP for music, I believe the JL's are the way to go for all frequencies. Orions were good, but this week at Daytona I blew all my mids after 2 years (I blew my neons too...too much bass, oops). For the CLS I have it in the garage for 6 months and hope to recieve by December 2002. JL 3 way system (653X) are being placed up front in two places so 12 speakers in the front cabin of the car. A set of 653X are replacing the 6X9's in the back so another 6 speakers on the rear deck. I haven't finished deciding upon the sub and I have a lil more time. The Jl Audio W7 is my choice at the moment with a firing chamber either thru the rear deck or as I proposed through the ski-hole using a pressure chamber box. My PowerMac is being installed for MP3 play as well as DVD 15" viewable screen. So you see their are many ways to stab at this, small-cheap, ghetto-real cheap, nice-moderate expensive and cosmetic/SPL-real expensive...WHAT MAKES YOU HARD when you DRIVE?
