So here it is, Complete list of parts required for a 6 speed conversion.

My car is now almost 100% functional with the exception of the ABS system, its still the Type-S Automatic, too much work to replace it so i left it alone (read more at the bottom*)
I dont have any more electrical issues left, every bug is figured out.

so here we go:

Parts needed for 6 speed swap on
01-02 CL Type-S or Premium (there might be a little more to figure out with premium). For 03 models read at the bottom**

These are all the parts required, if you want to do a hassle free swap with out having to figure out electrical problems and have the car running 100%.

I will highly recommend buying a wrecked 6 speed just because it will have all the parts required.
(i'm writing down every single thing i can remember, the swap was done very slowly, over 5 - 6 months, because of timing issues, so i'm sure there will be a couple of thing i'd leave out)

All these parts are from 6 speed CL.

Complete Driver and Passenger side engine bay harnesses,
Motor (with harness), tranny and subframe (you will needed it for the tranny mounts)
a/c dryer
Original Clutch
Shifter boot and cables
Clutch Cylinder and lines.
Upper dash harness
Lower dash harness (including all the fuse boxes and multiplex control units)
Driver's floor harness
Driver's door harness (with the window control unit)
Driver's door regulator and the motor (convert it to auto up and down)
Driver's door switch
Driver's door panel harness.
Complete Passenger door harness.
Passenger floor harness
ECU
Complete SRS system with harness (including airbags and the computer from 03)
Cluster
Cruise control switch (not sure if required)
Driver's seat (plugs are different)
Passenger seat (not sure if required)
Center Console, including the cup holder and the armrest box.
OEM Intake pipe
6 speed rear exhaust manifold
You will also need a 03 key fob.

The only few modification required will be removing the bracket for foot brake and drilling holes for the clutch assembley, and drilling holes to put in handbrake, and grounding some wires.

If you only want to change out the dash harnesses, u will be left with a lot of plugs will not match and some of the ones plugged in will have wires going in the wrong pins.

*Type-S models have an ABS unit and extra plug for VSA, premiums and 6mt dont.
It is a lot of work to change out the ABS (from type-s to 6mt or premium) I decided not to on mine. work fine and the ABS light rarely comes on.

**As far as 03 models go, both premium and type-s, i think you will be able to get aways with changing out the harnesses and the engine/tranny/subframe/dryer inthe engine compartment and only upper and lower dash harnesses with fuse boxes, and with the cluster, console, shifter, clutch and other required things, no other harness.

As far as prices go.

wrecked CL now a days: almost $3000
Labor to remove the motor tranny subframe from donor car, your car, and then installing it in your car: $1200-$2000. (you definitely wanna get timing belt, all seals, and every other service done while the motor is out)
Labor to change out the harnesses: Any where from $1500 - $2500.

If you do all the labor yourself, you will only be paying for the car and the timing belt and other miscellaneous item.

good work, but if it was me id just sell the 01-02 cl and buy a 6 speed for under 10k. How many auto cl's have done this so far. Think this is the second i have seen.

Doing it in an organized way:

01. Remove Auto motor tranny and subframe
02. Remove front bumper and headlights.
03. Remove both engine side harnesses
04. Remove front and back seats.
05. Remove the carpet to make it easier
06. Remove the center console including the radio.
07. Remove door and side panels.
08. Remove both airbags including the clock spring
09. Remove the dashboard, including the cluster, glove box, all the way.
10. Remove all harness from the upper dashboard.
11. Remove the a/c evaporator core and the fan.
12. Remove all the harnesses from lower dash including the fuse boxes and multiplex control unit.
13. Unplug the engine harnesses from engine bay and remove them.
14. Remove the parking brake assembly and disconnect it from the cables from under the center console.
15. Cut off the bracket for the parking brake.
16. Drill holes for the clutch assembly and install it.
17. (This one you can either replace the brake pedal or cut it to half the size, i chose to cut mine, it was a lot of work to replace it)
18. Drill holes for the hand brake assembly and install it.
19. Remove the Driver side floor harness and replace it as you go.
20. Remove the Passenger side floor harness and replace it as you go.
21. Remove the Driver side door harness and regulator and replace that, also the door panel harness.
22. Remove the Passenger side door harness and replace that.
23. Install wire harnesses for the engine bay (there will one wire you will have to ground near the battery).
24. Remove Auto ECU and install the 6 speed ECU
25. Install the lower dash harness with the 6 speed fuse box and plug everything in.
26. Replace complete SRS harness with 2003 6 speed including the SRS computer.
27. Replace the original a/c evaporator core and fan.
28. Install the upper dash with the wire harness.
29. Install the cluster and bezel around it from 6 speed.
30. Install the 03 6 speed clock spring with steering wheel and the 03 airbags.
31. fuck i'm tired of writing this shit
32. i'll finish later

That is true. I will also highly discourage this swap, but if you have to because you love your car and you have the money and time to do so, knock yourself out.

Once i was halfway into the swap, i realized it definitely isnt worth it for most people. but again, people who have put time and sweat in to their CLs, it probably is worth it.

Cool write up.

I pretty much concluded that it was not cost/reward effective especially seeing as the cheapest wreck I have seen after three plus months of serious searching in a not 80% wrecked 6MT was north of 4k.

Would there be any benefit from using the newer 6 spd tl tranny versus the 03 cl one. I noticed some of the 2nd gen TL guys were using the newer tl over the 03 cl one.

^ u got every single electrical thing to work?
also u got a TL not a CL, again, this was a list for everything needed to hassle free swap and no electrical problems at the end.

also, when u get the other parts car, u can make almost all of your money back by parting it out. so in other words, you basically get the parts car for free.

So nspec_ya4 are you going to do this swap or not? So up to this point no one has successfully tried this on a CL? Good luck if you do though.

yes it would but thier a long wait for his module. a friend wanted a module from him. 6month wait. that was about 3 months ago. so if u place and order in advance and can wait. than u wont need most of the sensors or harnesses

-VTEC
-Full rev limit
-Speedo
-Reverse lock out
-Reverse light
-Passing inspection due to CEL

The advantage over using the 03 CL 6 speed ECU.
-You keep your stock ECU.
-No need to change engine harness
-No need for expensive cam gears and sensors
-No need to tow your car to dealer to immobilizer programming
-No need to tear apart interior to change body harness
-Allow you to use TL and Accord 6 speed which are more plentiful and have less mileage.
-No CEL

Basically you can save lots of money using the harness and everything is simplified.

the TL guys use it
