Silver CLS that i raced in houston...read...!

hey, great race...i was surprised at the outcome...but ur right, it was fun

did you notice that we didnt have anyone pull in front of us on that second run? i saw alot of ppl videotaping us...i guess we had an audience...jejeje

as for the car to my right...i have no idea what it was...civic w/too loud of an exhaust, maybe....??? who knows, but he sure sounded brave before the green, reving it up...so i was happy to see him cop out and turn into the parking lot as we started leaving him behind...!

anyway...let me know what you think about the outcome...comments, concerns, questions...

for everyone else, i raced a cls w/the same mods i have, nothing other than aem cai. thats it.....in houston on westheimer. during our first run from a light...a few cars got in the way and we made a u turn to try again...during the second run, no one got in the way...and someone else joined in, just to slow down when he couldnt hang....jajajaja

from what i could tell, i won by about 1/2 car length, but im not sure...

CL-S driver must not have known how to take off!

All numbers seem to indicate the CLS faster by about 0.4 seconds vs. A TL-S.

CL-S still looks sweeter though!

Good kill!

whats there to know...all i did was leave it in d5 and mash the gas pedal to the floor. even though wheelspin was massive in d1 and d2...

Gabo3k is right (except for the part about numbers for the CL-S v TL-S), there are definitely better ways to take off.
You could've beaten him worse if you used SS without VSA!!

well, of course i had vsa off. i mentioned that i spinned the wheels all through first and part of 2nd gear.....

anyway, after running 10 times on the 1/4 mile track the night before, i didnt see any use for using SS

I didn't say you had VSA off or on.

Hey, if you're getting the same times with full auto and SS then more power to you. I just don't know anyone that will argue for racing in full auto.

this was my experience as well.

in my mind, ss wouldn't give much of a benefit in the 1/4 anyway, as the 1/4 is done before you get out of 3rd, and you can't control the 1-2 shift anyway. so the only thing you're doing in ss during the 1/4 miles is shifting 2-3.

I've seen the numbers of 0-60 and 1/4 mile to be faster on the TL and TLS, but it's by .1 of sec, i don't know where you get .4 secs for the CL but i would think they would be the same.....also, i don't know, but i thought the CL was heavier than the TL, we both drive the acuras so i'm not tryin to say my car is better than yours, just questioning where you get your numbers.

Hey whats up systek! That was a fun race, I enjoyed it. Those damn trucks that pulled out in front of us during our first run got pretty annoying though. I didn't even know we had another player in our little race! You said it was a civic? That fool shouldn't have even tried!!! I wanted to pull back around to meet you at that Sonic parking lot, but I needed to get back home. Anyway, fun race! Mayby I'll see ya again down Westheimer someday. Later man

By the way, are you back in Austin now?

yep, im back home, in austin...

yeh, im not 100% sure what that 3rd car was...but he copped out real quick...how pathetic....jeje

yep, that is what i figured...you had to get home. well, i plan on going to 1/4 mile track again, but this time closer to home. i was told there is a track close to ft. hood, and comptech type s wants to go too...so we may go together and represent the type s twins...!!!

btw, how were you driving??? in auto? SS mode? vsa on/off? did you hit the rev limiter? how close of a race was it???

only thing is i wish we had a copy of that video that i saw someone taking...

Yea, getting a video of the race would be nice! I used SS but was reluctant to rev high mainly because I am a little past due for an oil change. I probably shouldn't have even raced, but I couldn't pass up the opprutinity to race a TL-S with the same mods! I launched with VSA off and I only went about 1/2 throttle until I got some real traction (the next thing I need to do is get some REAL tires, one's that actually grip the road!). Overall I kept the rev's under 6k, although I probably should have just floored it but there was always that fear in the back of my mind about running with the old oil in my car. Fun race anyways! Mayby we can do it again sometime!!

yeh, like i mentioned, i floored it, with the pavement wet...left me spinning the tires all through first and some of second gear...im sure vsa would have helped in that situation...oh well,it was fun, just change that oil...!!!
